Is it fully charged ?.
Yes, its just being a pain and im gettng really wound up lol!Do you have one?

Have you filled the memory card up with photos as you have managed to take some?
Some mem cards are small, the one that came with mine only held 11 on high quality or just one tiff.
Nope, it tells me how many i have left and i have worked out how to delete them anyway - thats quite simple. Ive been messing with it for 2 hours and am no better than when i got it.My son hasgot hold of the wallet the cd for my comp cae in some im not sure if i can return it now eithe. its really getting on my nerves but i cant walk away till i can do it.

Could you post the make and model number please.

does it have a card in it? or is it just internal memory?
if it has a card,FORMAT the card (you will lose the pics youve already taken if you do this).
how are the batteries doing,?they EAT batteries.
finally have you put it back onto the PHOTO mode (ie not still on the viewing section)
The usb cables charge it so they cant run out.I know digital ones eat batteries so that hy i bought this one

take it to a local camersa shop & let them have a look.As it could be any number of things. though to be honest you arent going to get a good one for 14.99! (i work in a camera/photolab)

Never seen one to be honest.
I think you should be able to return it for a replacement if you feel its faulty or try for a refund.
Don't these damn modern electrical devices wind you up!!
Put it down for a while, take a break with a nice big cup of coffee then have another look or I could start singing to you if you wish to relax for a while :)

it seems that only has an internal memory.
IF it has, heres my advice, unplug it,take the battery out, & that should clear it.wait a few minutes, then put it back together and see.
make sure you are on photomode.
if that dosent work then its faulty ,send it back
Ive emailed them saying its faulty - i cannot get it to take a photo.Ive managed to take a couple but it shouldnt be difficult to do and i try everything and it just wont. Im really miffed off with them - always seem to be having problems with there stuff lately andi never had before. Going to buy one from town now so somebody can show me!It hasnt took a photo for a few hours.Ive calmed down a bit now, although ill be miffed again soon as they take 24 hours to get back to you which is annoying!
Hi Radleydog :-) Just use your returns note that came in the packaging with the camera, and return it that way...otherwise if you wait for a reply from them before sending it back (you'll either wait ages or they won't reply) they'll say you've had it too long, put a note in with it saying it's faulty and you'd like a full refund to your card :-D They should then do it.
Thanks - didnt think of that - just going to find it - only got it this morning lol!
There isnt a return slip :-( there a pain so ill have to wait for them to get back to me - bet i have to pay return p+p though - thats not on!
Just looked on ebay and i could have got a better one for cheaper :-( not im extra miffed off

Looking at it the battery is built in from the discription.
Might well be a return job at the end of the day.
They battery is built in i cant get to it. Serves my right for being a cheap skate lol. Will it not help that my son has ripped the case that the CD rom thing came in? Its only the plastic sleeve thing - nowt to do with the camera or the way it works (or rather doesnt!) lol
Lol go for it!

Glad you have relaxed, thought I might have to sing for a moment or two :)
Don't worry about the case, they will return it to their suppliers for replacement if you want to return it.
I aint having another!
All the grief this has given me!Lol
Still a bit miffed, just boxed it ready to be returned! So you can sing lol
Be careful if buying a digi camera off ebay i bought one from a company don't know if i am allowed to put there name so i won't, if you want to know email me privately. Anyway they had all good feedback but when camera arrived just a cheap one it was taking green photos so they asked me to return but said i had to pay all postage costs which i refused why should ? so i contacted ebay and they took ages investigating in the meantime a whole load of bad feedback had appeared on there ratings. So i thought i would leave some as well which is when they contacted me and i finally got my money back. In regards to your camera have you tried using a different usb lead yours could be fauly.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news radleydog but I'd bin the blasted thing and start again! At £14.99 it's a gadget rather than a camera and you aren't the first person I know to drive themselves demented trying to get some sense out of a similarly priced so-called "camera". You could return it to the manufacturers on the grounds that it isn't fit for the purpose it was sold for and in theory you should get your money back. But to be honest, even allowing for how much the price of digital cameras has come down over the years, you've still got to pay more to get something that will do even the basics. And you do need to get a named brand too.
Having just read the spec, the pictures it does take aren't worth having since the maximum resolution is 640 x 480 - in fact, you'd get a better resolution out of a mobile phone with a camera!

Just interested how you rate the EOS 350D ?
We got one a few months ago and have found it extremely good :D
I am trying to get my mum to go over to digital but she is very resistant so what do you recommend as a good one for a 70 something photgraphy taking maniac :D
The poster is still entitled to have a camera that works regadless of the resolution of the camera. The fact is they have paid for something that isn't working and are entitled to a refund. Some people can't afford to just write off £14.99. I certainley wouldn't out of principal :).

Yes you are right as £14.99 is alot of money for something useless :)
I hope that the OP gets their money back :)
im trying have to see what they say - it just doesnt work so i should get a refund
I would imagine with an 8mp camera your pictures are fantastic

Yes it is extremely good and we are very glad we got it :)
I was able to get some fantastic photos of Min my oldie we lost in August which I will treasure for a long time to come :)
My other half has a Canon EOS 20D and he loves it....
He had an EOS 300 (if I remember correctly) non digital camera
and that took lovely photo's.
Me on the other hand just has a camera phone or a kodak digital (old).
Still they are plenty good enough for my snaps...
:D

Most people I know with the EOS 350D have been very pleased with it, LJS. It was the first digital SLR to go below the £1000 mark and I've seen some excellent results from it. I'm a Nikon fanatic (getting a 2DX to add to the collection next year) but for people who want a serious digital SLR without paying professional prices you can't go wrong with the Canon.
I know I'm biased about Nikons but have a look at their Coolpix range for your mum. They start at sensible prices and all have a good range of options as well as turning in excellent "point and shoot" pictures. On the whole (and apologies for the generalisation) I've found that older people are driven mad by tiny weeny digital cameras because the controls are fiddly. In addition to my Nikon I have a Fuji S2 and rate Fuji highly too and a model like the Fuji E500 could be a good choice too.
Getting back to radleydog's camera, I'm not suggesting that anyone should put up with a camera that doesn't work even if it did only cost £14.99. I am, however, suggesting that it's no surprise that it doesn't! So send it back and demand a refund!

Don't bother with the Coolpix 7600 though, I've had one sitting on my desk since October, its unable to focus on anything that it isn't totally immobile, apparently a common fault on the coolpix, Nikon have tested it and they say its not faulty, thousands of users across the world have bad eyesight, they're pictures aren't out of focus they need glasses.

poor show Nikon, no more camera's from Nikon for me.
oooops

Robert, it may be that your Nikon Coolpix 7600 doesn't take very good "action" shots. Something that is almost certainly all down to shutter lag. Now this is something that some people would mark the 7600 down for (although just as many wouldn't!!) but not being able to compensate for shutter lag is the user's problem and Nikon are probably correct in saying there's nothing actually faulty in the camera. I also hate to tell you this but thousands of people across the world ARE incapable of taking properly focussed pictures - I see the evidence only too often!
However, one bad experience with one Nikon camera isn't a good enough reason to write off the whole range. Indeed, if they were so awful, why do you think so many professional photographers would choose to use Nikons?

It doesn't take any shots fullstop, which ever setting is chosen on the camera, the pictures are out of focus, a leading chain of camera specialists (not sure if I can mention there name on here) have carried out an independant report on the camera, their conclusion was that the autofocus simply does not work.
The camera is sold as a basic point and shoot, and if people with no experiance can't take a decent photo with it, people incidently the camera is aimed at, then the camera is not fit for its .
purpose.
No where did I say in my post that I'd written the whole Nikon range off, I simply pointed out my experiance with one model, an experiance shared by many people research around the internet will show.
It is my opinion that how ever good a product is, customer service must match that quality, unfortunately in this case this has not been so, however I will exercise my consumer rights to write off the whole range and take my custom elsewhere since the quality of customer care falls short of camera quality.
Many professional photographers choose not to use Nikon, why do you think that is?

>Many professional photographers choose not to use Nikon, why do you think that is?
I don't know. But then all the professional photographers I work alongside do! However, I long ago realised that attempting to argue pointless points of detail was, er, pointless so I won't. :)
why do you think so many professional photographers would choose to use Nikons?Pointless the way your question to me was. The professionals I work along side don't use Nikon.
You seemed happy to argue points of detail that weren't even in my original post you replied to, you inferrred I wrote the whole Nikon range off, where as I actually mentioned one model, a model I have experiance with, another poster with experiance of other Nikon models in a certain price brackets coinfirms what I have found through research on the internet and with consumer associations.
In my experiance "Professional" means you get paid, nothing more, very often the amateur has a far deeper knowledge of a subject then the professional.

i find ( i wont sell them now) that the digi nikons in the £100-200 price range are full of "noise" on the prints, you can see it down the walls & on the shkin tones sometimes. i dont rate them at all. i have had no experince with selling top of the range nikons though!!!!!
a really really good digi camera for taking dog shots (& other things) is the fuji F10. its a compact digi ,its fabulous.
Just to let you all know i have just recieved an email from them at last! Saying if i return the camera recorded delivery they will refund me including the pstage costs :-)
