Could anyone recomend a good breeder for the DDB and what to look for to make sure i get a Healthy dog.
Where abouts are you? I know someone who recently bred a litter, her bitch has a really low score and I have to say she is the best DDB I've ever seen, her movement is something to shout about which can't be said for many.
You need to ensure that they are hip scored, also check on their parents temperament as they can be a bit shy.

I live in St Helens (Northwest), i am looking to get one in about six months or so , have just moved into a new house and want to get settled before i bring in a new familly member.
With the hip score is it better for it to be lower?
Is it the shyer the dog the worse the temperment?
What are they like with other dogs i have a labrador called Molly really loving but does tend to get a bit excided and charge around.

Yes the lower the better and preferably below the breed average which the club should be able to tell you. I don't know anything about this breed in particular but in general terms I think for a novice owner the in between character is the best, not the shyest but not the boldest. On the day you visit the puppies can be inconsistant to their character due to tiredness etc so I would always use the experience and knowledge of the puppies that the breeder should have to help you pick the right one for you.

We have had DDB for the past 7 years, if you want info on the club and a number for one of the top breeders, having bred one of the best dogues in the Europe PM me and I will put you in touch also the club info
