A beautiful 12 week old cavalier (plus many other pets)
Boxer nearly 8months old :D

2 Briards, one black girlie who is nearly 1 yr and a fawn macho man (not) 3 yrs.
I didnt know what a Briard was either till i looked it up.They are so sweet. How do you find dogs like that? I bet there are loads of lovely breeds of dog that ive never heard of that would make wonderfull family members.
The OH saw a man in our local town walking two bloodhounds and was instantly smitten by them, and thats from a lifetime of GSD ownership. You very rarely see Bloodhounds now a days.Does anyone on the forums own one? :)

The cats rule the roost in our house ;)
We have two cats but the dogs are petrified of them.So much for people believing in the term guard dog when they refer to GSDs. :)
I have a lovely great big silver fawn mastiff! Want another one, but am working on husband!
I have 1 FCR who will be 8 months on the 17th December :-)

When I was researching dog breeds I bought a dog encyclopadia.
Noqw with most people having access to the web at home or work I would advise everyone to look at the breed standards at theKennel club website.
I too think that people could be a lot more imaginative in theri breed choices, and maybe the over exploited pet market fodder wouldn't be so easy for the puppy farmers if people startede their search with the canine ruling body.
As I had been involved in small livestock showing and belonged to the British Rabbit Council when I showed and bred pedigree Rabbits it never occured to me to search anywhere else but the ruling body, then the breed clubs of the breeds I was intertested in and then find a breeder through them.
Sadly it seems that the average poerson wanting a specific breed looks in the local paper which is by and large used by puppy farmers and casual breeders (those who ahve little in depth knowledge of the breed).
