I try to help as much as i can with all sides of rescue work and all animals.I use to work for a large rehoming center on a non paid basis till they added a non fostering policy and would rather turn the animals away to be dumped on the next street corner and abandonned. The only place for them to go then was PTS.I still take in small animals and the OH has years of experience with exotics, that we also take in.Thing that gets me is,you try to rehome a dog when you have young kids, even a pup and most places will turn you away.A while ago we were trying to adopt a GSD pup but were turned down as we had two young children.A year later i did find one rescue that would let us rehome a dog but by then we already got one as a private rescue. Now with my history of working with animals and the OH being in the RAF living and working with GSDs all his life, his dad was also RAF,you would of thought we would have enough experience of owning that particular breed.I hold no animosity towards these rescues but i do feel that all people, regardless, should not be judged under one rule when they have such back grounds and experience and could give a poor homeless dog a forever loving home.I would beg that not all rehoming rules should be stuck to in some circumstances and that each case should be judged individually.
