Hi, does anyone know of any nice and not too noisy Ringcraft classes in this area? Or Cheshire as long as it's not too too far??? I know of one, in Liverpool, which I WON'T mention, because it's too noisy with a lot of Staffys that make their owners laugh when they GO for one another (sigh)LOL and is very noisy with the doggie owners swilling beer!! LOL Guess it must be held in a social club huh?? Thanks, Dawn X

Merseyside Boxer Club hold an obedience/ringcraft night every Wednesday at Jacobs Social Club near Aintree. It's for all breeds and Margaret Wildman does the training.
It's a nice friendly atmosphere too!
It's not on now until the new year though - pm me if you want more details.

HA HA, did you miss my hints about the social club and the staffys??? LOL Thank you anyway Emma, I know it's friendly but very noisy! Ta, Dawn X

We go most weeks and there is only one staffy that comes often.
It's mainly boxers (it is Merseyside Boxer Club after all!), a few mastiffs, then a mix of all sorts!
I hope the shows you go to are not noisy - if your dog cant cope with a bit of noise at training, what's gonna happen when you get to a champ show?

There is always the ringcraft class in formby that I attend with my beardies held at the West lancs dog training school they have a website for the address its:
www.westlancsk9.co.uk held by a lady called Val cost £4.00
Its held on a Monday night at 7.00 not in a social club it is under cover but this time of year you do need to wrap up as it gets quite cold.

Hi guys before I moved back to belfast I went to the Boxer club and I can say It is a fantastic place full of good down to earth people. You are advised and helped by some of the nicest people in the showing world and you can relax and have a drink a the bar! Don't know where the staffies come into it???? I am still in contact with some of the members I met there and we still have a good chin-wag from time to time. Kind regards, Clare

Hi all, well as you all know where and what it is...I will say this...I went there with my new Newfie a couple of years ago...yes they ARE very friendly! Yes Margaret IS a lovely down to earth person! Yes they were VERY helpful...but at that time there were a crowd in the corner that had a gang of Staffys that they used to laugh at when they went for others dogs! I didn't like it at all...they frequently had a few jars and whilst I'm not tee-total I don't like half cut idiots encouraging their dogs to attack other dogs! Perhaps things have changed and they are better??
I also know and have been to West Lancs...but I need to train my 2 ickle Yorkies, I did basic obedience, ring craft and CGC there and can highly reccomend them...but it's TOO cold for me Yorkies and much more suited to the Newfies! LOL :D
Thanks for all your input...as always I appreciate it! love Dawn X

Emma, one doggie is bomb and firework proof, the other is a ickle baby 12 weeks old that I need to get out and socialise asap...been difficult as I have just come out of Hospital today having had a Hip replacement...my first one was in July. He tends to be very quiet and not at all like Pepe...but BEFORE I go to a noisy Show...I need to train him don't I? And I don't want him put off for life by having his first experience inside a very very noisy uncontrolled badly run Ring craft club do I?(Not that I was inferring that about the Merseyside club! :D ) This is why I am looking for a good club now! I have had a LOT of years showing dogs, but never really had to go anywhere before to train them...but this is a different kettle of fish and I don't want him put off...thanks for all your help, love Dawn X
I like jacobs but that's my opinion. Plus there's loads of people who own bullmastiffs who are friendly and chatty, who always help when you need them. If somewhere isn't for you then dont go there but i will say this places change and as you said that was many years ago!!!!!!! you had been there. Also you should watch what your putting on a public forum about a place because it could be classed as slander.
Warm regards Susan

Blimey, where are all you people when I go walking in Croxteth Park?? Can't miss me, I'm on the mobility scooter(red) with 2 MASSIVE black dogs lol!!! I look a right sight and have been known to stop the traffic in Oak Lane(especially the bus driver that stops to chat!! LOL :D)
I'm always in Croxteth park with my three dogs, two westies and a bullmastiff and i've never seen you on your scooter, hehehehehe.
Warm regards Susan

Ermm about the slander...I didn't say anything bad about anyone...or name anyone by surname or place! I just said I didn't like it and wanted somewhere quiet! If it's changed from 2 years ago then great...I'll give it a try...or if someone recommends anywhere else I will try that! I already said the people running it were great, Margaret is great and they were friendly...but I experienced the crowd in the corner and didn't like that noisy, aggressive aspect...cheers for the help. love Dawn X
Croxteth Park...I try to go in the mornings to miss the scallies!!! They aren't awake then! I go to the Park, upto the Village and a 4 mile round trip, via Muirhead and Utting Av, back down to Croxteth HAll Lane, Beeps and waves returned!!! LOL :D :D :D
