my bitch is in labour she first showed a black sac at 10ish and now we can see feet along side the black sack this is her first whelping but all she wants to do is sleep the bag is still intact on the pups feet and this did not appear untill about 10.30ish i am trying to keep her walking around she is not distressed but she keeps pushing but no more appears. what do i do please help i thought i was prepared i read everthing but she just keeps sitting on the bag

Ring your vet NOW!

Get her to the Vet.   A pup should be born within 2 hours of the water bag appearing.

Minutes after feet appearing the pup should have been born!  Chances are that it is dead and could hold up the birth and cause the death of the other pups.

Oh please be quick, I experienced this once with a friends dog,both her and her parents didn't have any idea she was in whelp until this appeared,as they knew nothing they left her.The dog died as it was 2 hours before they thought she might need help,she died on the way to the vets.The vet did a ceaser to see if any pups had survived but all were dead.The first pup was huge weighing over a pound,she was only a small mongrel,so god knows what kind of dog she mated with.They got her from a rescue and were told she had been spayed. :(

URGENT! EMERGENCY! Call your vet - you may be told how to get that pup out or you may be advised to get the bitch into the surgery NOW!

Oh dear. I hope the vet will be able to help.  When you get the chance please get back to us and let us know how it went as I'm sure many people will have this on their mind until they know.

firstly try and keep calm .......ring your vet who may be able to talk you through helping the pup down having a breech for a first pup can be tricky your vet may do a house call if he feels she should not be transported .....fingers crossed

I think it will be at a couple of hours minimum before we hear anything Inca.

no news jet, i do hope alls ok for this lady, was reading her tread last night, will keep reading for up dates, warm regards debbie.

I've been checking this all day too - isn't it nerve wracking even if we don't know the person/dog concerned. Lets hope for good news soon.

I'm finding the long silence rather ominous :( but I pray I am wrong.  I just wish she would let us know either way.

Definitely very worrying, but fingers crossed that everything turned out OK in the end and that she's just busy looking after mum and the pups.

Hi, I am praying that she is so busy with mom and new babies and hasn't given us a thought.  I was waiting all day like you guys for news and hoped that we would have news this morning.  Opening this just I was praying it was good news!  Like somebody said earlier lets just hope no news is good news....everything is crossed for them.

It's tough waiting but maybe she just can't take what's happened let alone tell anyone else.  She will know everyone is waiting and I'm sure she will let us know when she's ready

I do so hope there is good news to come & that SharonK is just busy with Mum & babies.
