my dog is due to be wormed on the 23rd December.  I worm him every three months.  Last week when i was at the vets i picked up his wormers so i would have them ready. Today he has eaten some horse muck before i could stop him.  Is it alright to worm him now or should i just wait until the 23rd.   thanking you in advance, Zach.  P.S does everyone still worm every three months?

I worm every 3 - 4 months, but if I saw worms before this time was up then I would worm immediately.

I have 3 dogs and  and own horses too, mine eat dog muck all the time, and I just worm mine every 3 month, I asked my vet and he said that their is nothing to worry about, most dogs will eat horse muck given half the chance. :)

1 of mine rolls in it too, If I take my eyes off him for a second?

I don't think you need to be too exact about when the three months is up and some people recommend worming more regularly if your dog is regularly in contact with "iffy" substances. Horse poo seems to come under the heading of "irresistible" mind and I'm more bothered about sheep poo!

I have a dog that eats horse and cow poo so frequently that if I were to worm her every time, she would almost OD on wormer, I'm sure!!  So I just worm every 3 months, regardless of what she eats.  If I saw worms in her poo, I would worm instantly, however.
