I sent off a entry form for an open show but used the wrong cheque book (the one that the account has nothing in ).

I only realised I had used the wrong book as the bank wrote to me saying the cheque had been returned :-(

Before I phone the seceratary to grovel does anyone know what will happen? - Can I still enter? Am I right in thinking I get fined? (I  can remember reading about a fine somewhere)

Thanx!

Most societies do give a fine for this, not sure if it's £5.00.  It should say somewhere in the rules :d

You're not alone! My hubby sent off the Crufts entry and forgot to sign the cheque.First thing I knew was when I got a call from the Crufts office!

Hi
Tennstaffs
when you've phoned the club secretary and explained,
ask is there a fine and if so pay up. i'm sure they will be ok
with that. That's what i would do if it was me.

Hi, Your entry will still stand, no problem there. The treasurer may come upto you at the show and tell you what has happened, then ask for payment. There may be a charge, usually £5-10. It happened to me recently when work "forgot" to pay us and I had cheques bouncing everywhere!!!

Also be careful that your bank don't charge you.....mine charge £7.50 to cancel a cheque and the same if it gets returned :-(

Dont worry, i've done all kinds of silly things when i've been filling in entry forms only for the secretary to phone me up and tell me, it all comes with experience.

Warm regards Susan
