ive just bought my dogs some agility equipment from e-bay for christmas.  a tunnel, fences and weaving poles.  i have no expectations of them but just thought it would be something interesting for them to do.  i've got to admit though the thought of 5 mini dachshunds having fun in the back garden probably makes the presents more for me than for them.  i dont fancy their chances over the fences although you can set them at about 2 inches so they might just manage!

Why not just not buy him one?

Does he know what Xmas is and will he go into a deep depression if ne does not get a present?

My dogs don't get Christmans presents but they dog give me one! ;)

me too scarymary, i can't imagine everyone in the house getting presents and the dogs getting nothing.  when the kids had their first chritmases some scrooge like people told me not to get them much as they did not understand what was going on.  needless to say i ignored their advice and went to town.  the season of goodwill spreads to the animals in our house, not just the humans

I don't think he gives a damn about Christmas ....lol..... or birthdays or other holidays for that matter ;) . My dog gets attention, kisses and small gifts every day of the year and that's what counts. You being there for him every day of his life ;) .

Giblets I tell you! That's what dogs should get for Christmas! They are dogs, for heaven's sake, and deserve to be left out of the materialistic madness formerly known as Christmas.

You can always gift wrap them if you don't want your dog to discover there's no such person as Santa Claus. :)

Our's get a new toy and thats it :)  :)  just gives us satisfaction that we haven't forgotten the dogs! :)  The toy's get shredded or ignored within 5 mins and the dogs much prefer the wrapping paper or the turkey in the oven!  The don't get a special xmas diner but do get the carrot peelings ad that sort of stuff and also the left over gravey and the fat off the turkey.  It's the one meal of the year they don't have "leftovers" because we always have bubble and squeek on boxing day :)  however the dogs will be just as loved and cared for as any other day of the year :)

Its more for me than for the dogs, but I think they enjoy it too.  My 2 will get jumpers and a stocking full of toys and treats each, which they will unwrap themselves.  Like people enjoy watching children unwrap pressies I enjoy watching my dogs unwrap theirs.  And whats Christmas without a Christmas jumper :-D

We also donate to 2 rescue homes and put Arthur and Lillys name on the card aswell :-D

I get a MASSIVE bag of Kong toys and treats for £10 ($20) from Costco while im in america so I split that between neighbours and friends dogs.  It is the time for giving after all.

Scary Mary, how about sending a donation to his and your favourite animal charity to help out less fortunate doggies? You say yourself he has everything - how about extending it to him having a sense of altruism and seasonal good will? You could even play santa - go doggie shopping and drop the food/treats/toys off at your local animal shelter. I'm sure they'd be over the moon.

If it's the unwrapping he enjoys, just get him lots of boxes to unwrap, he can have great fun ripping the paper to bits!! :-)

i went out yesterday and bought him 2 nyla bones very very large ones, ones is peanut butter flavour and the other is roast lamb, the kids wrapped them last night in loads of layers of paper so unwrapping them will take in a while i think and keep him amuzed while the kids open theirs .

Mine have got a bag of treats each, but as they are different flavours they will eventually share those, and they each have a toy chicken that 'cocka doodle doos', a toy sheep that 'baas' and a toy cow that 'moos'.

mine get spoilt. I buy them pressies, as does my neighbour and two friends, and my mum and dad (they have my bitches brother). I return the favour, and it costs me a small fortune! I tend to get neighbours, parents and friends dogs a toy of some sort, and some treats. Nothing flash. I'm thinking of making them all a box of liver cake this year instead of buying treats. My parents dog gets a bit more because he doesn't have many friends compared to my two :D!
