hi, my pups had their second injections last thursday and i was really looking forward to getting them out and about from today until speaking with other dog owners this morning who all said that they wait for 2 weeks after the 2 injection before they let their pups on the floor. what do you all do?

I personally do not isolate at all after the second injection. The puppy is down on the floor from that day on. Others have a different opinion, but I have never had a problem in over thirty years.

Your best source of advise is your vet as they will be best placed to evaluate the level of risk currently in the local area. You would then need to balance that against the particular needs or your breed for early rather than later socialisation as breeds do vary enormously in this regard.
this is half the problem for me, when i asked the vet he said "between 7 and 10 days". i said "so is it 7 or 10" and he said do what you think best! such helpful advice. i know 3 days may not be a long time but i am absolutely desperate to get them out and about.

Am I right in presuming you mean outside on the ground ?
I personally don't let them out till at least 1 week after second Vaccine. It does seem to vary for vet to vet but all of my life I have always been told 2 weeks after second vaccine. I know other posters will have a different opinion. I personally think right away is too soon for me.
yes i do mean on the ground. i have been carrying them and letting them meet people since their first injection and they went to their first puppy training session last week but sat on my knee. i was looking forward to them being able to go on the ground today and also to going down tonight at their second training session.
I've always taken mine out a week after, never before that though.
Mine go down the very same day they have their 2nd vacc, like nursey says. Never had a problem, and I live in a big city.

I usually take mine out straight after their 2nd injection. I think that if you've been carrying them around outside and taking them to the puppy class on your knee then they're still at risk - it's surely little difference to let them on the ground. For me the needs and benefits of early socialisation outweigh those risks.

I only waited 2 days thats what my vet said. But anothet vet told another owner of one of the pups to wait 10 days! But I would say its fine aslong as the 2nd jabs been done.
