Topic Dog Boards / Health / Chewing gum!

Hi all,

Kaiser has managed to get chewing gum on him. No idea how and as he's a little boy and really in to dirt and muck and stuff its not bothering him at all but it looks a right mess!

Any idea how I can get it off? For those who don't know he's a Weima-puppy so no long coat (Phew!).

Any ideas?

Linda & Sticky Boy!

Only thing I can think of depends on how good he is - will he let you rub the area with an ice cube to freeze it? It becomes brittle then and you should then be able to break it off.

Now why didn't I htink of that! He also got it on a t-shirt of mine which he sleeps with and I've put that in the freezer but hadn't really got beyond the thought that I can't put Kaiser in the freezer!

When Martin comes back in I'll ask him to help hold him...

Thanks!

Hi

I've been waiting to hear how your pup is:) The best way to remove chewing gum is to freeze it:D Now on clothes and smaller items you just pop them into the freezer obviously you can't do this with your pup;) So could you try using an ice cube or bag of peas and 'target' the area as you do for carpets, furniture etc?

Hi Anita,

He's really well! We've had him 7 weeks today, half his life in fact, and I just adore him. He's really easy going and bright and is still at that lovely stage when everything is a game and training is fun! I must say I'm not looking forward to the adolesent stage with him! Hopefully he won't be too bad but Weims can be a handful.

Sorry to bring the mood down, but its the 1st anniversary of Zico's death tonight. We had to have him pts as he had a torsion. But he died aged 13 years in Martin's arms. Just reading that other thread makes me realise how lucky we were really.

Oh I'm sorry, Zico will know you are thinking of him.

But I am glad you are enjoying Kaiser I shall await the adolescent posts;)

Yes the other thread is horrible isn't it?
