Im not very good on knowing about computers and just have the basic everything due to being too scared to try anything better. If in the future i wanted to get a laptop as to get rid of my table full of stuff where does all the big stuff that ordinary computers have, go, such as the huge box ( is it the modem) which accompanies the screen monitor? Do you have speakers inside a laptop, can it play cds, thanks.
I'd wait until the January sales, not long now and usually great bargains to be had at PCWorld. :) :) I've got a latop but I only use it occasionally, I do find the tiny keyboard a bit fiddly and the touch pad as well but it does its job and its great if you're ill in bed and want to check e-mails! (Or if you want to watch a DVD in bed!!!) Beware though, don't believe you ca have it unplugged a lot -most only have battery power for an hour before they need re-charging, so it's best to use a cable normally. (The expensive ones have longer battery life.)
i have a sony (vaio)too-mine was £800, but does everythin i need it to. I used to have a fujitsu-siemens brick that cost over a grand, but wasn't a patch on this! I agree to waiting for the sales. I would also check out the internet. My hubby regularly orders things from scan, ebuyer and dabs They tend to be much cheaper than the shops. He got his vaio from one of those and it was about £150 cheaper than in the shops!
