Special Yearling?

There's no special yearling at Crufts but yearling is 12-24 months.

thats what I meant goldmali - yearling (didnt have schedule in front of me)
thanks he has won one first and best puppy in group but keeps getting beat for first places its only that someone said to me that he could be up against dogs which have done alot better is this true.
It also depends on what your dog has won.

It is Yearling. Up until this year it was always called Special Yearling.

Depending on your breed and its classification I would think Yearling would be the class to enter,if there are no yearling classes then it will depend how successful your dog has been.

I would say Yearling - that's the class I will be in with my boy! He will be 23 months. This will be my first Crufts (it's first year showing ever!!)
If you haven't won CC or three or more 1st prizes (at champ or open) you could go for Novice or Undergraduate if they have that for your breed but he may be up against some older more mature dogs in Undergraduate. We don't have Undergraduate in our breed but I may have gone for that as well.
Although I have had mixed advice in going in for more than one class as the numbers are quite high at Crufts - what are others views on this? Is it done? Would someone in special puppy enter in special junior and then yearling also? I guess if you have a quality dog the answer is probably yes!?
Is it your first Crufts too?
This is my first year and I am excited as well but he has won lots of seconds but only one first and best puppy, we keep getting beat by known people in the breed.
Do you think he is quite mature and I dont think he would look out of place against older dogs
Thanks again for replying
Thankyou for your reply
I have been told not to put my dog in more than one class they are really big at crufts. I do not have the schedule yet but does anyone know if there is such a class as special junior and what age that goes up to. Lady from training suggested it.

Special Junior is 8 to 18 months at Crufts.

That depends on your breed. :) Yes some have huge classes, others have tiny ones. What classes you will have also depends on the breed and if it has CCs or not -CCs breeds have more classes.
Thankyou for your reply
I thought that would be obvious. I get butterflies just thinking about it but I am really looking forward to it.
I
If you have a yearling class, put him in that. Then the next classes go on wins such graduate, postgraduate etc. For instance postgrad is for dogs that have not won a cc or five first places at champ shows in postgrad, mid limit, limit or open
My boy is the same age as yours give or take a few days, so he has to go into yearling.
He's not 18 months until February so he will stay in the junior class upto then. So therefore theres only one class he can't enter not that we have it this year is novice as he had more than three wins in junior.
I'm also putting him in undergraduate as i'm just going to enjoy the day and experience.
