if you see what I mean!!

I need some way to train 3 dogs at once, but my tutor reckons the new clicker+ isn't up to the task - she says it's hard to switch between the noises fast enough to train multiple dogs.  For proper training sessions I train my dogs separately, but it's for things like walking my two together up the park, or good behaviour round the home, that I need an alternative to using the one clicker.

I'm thinking maybe different pitch whistles, or sound effects buttons?  I use a whistle (acme 11.5) for their recall, so I'm limited on that front.  Any ideas?  Does anyone know where I could get an effects button?

Why not just have separate clicker words?

Much simpler, quicker, cheaper and you will never lose or forget them (hopefully~)

Just choose 3 words that you hardly ever use in conversation like sex, foo and bah

She's gonna get some funny looks when she shouts "Sex, foo, bah" while walking in the park!! LOL :) :) :)

Surely that would defeat the purpose of using a clicker in the first place?  I use it because it gives me much more precise timing and clear marking of behaviours (I talk a lot, I think the dogs tune my voice out but the clicker is distinct).

The reason people use a clicker is because it is distinctive and not confused with any other sound.

Hence if you choose to use a clicker word it must be something that does not come up in general conversation like "good"  or "ok"which is ghastly cos they hear that all the time (hopefully) and may tune out.  THere are very many successful clicker trainers who use words rather than a clicker and obviously you cannot take the clicker onto the competition field with you hence it is very valuable to have a clicker word so that the dog can be reinforced in competition exactly the same way as it is in training.

There is no reason why you cannot have precise timing using a word though, people have been and are doing that successfully since time began.

When my sister was 16 she got a new cat and thought she'd be very clever by calling it 

"Ginge Monge" ie Ginger Minge in a french accent!!!  (sorry!)

Was very funny until she took it to the vets and they called it's name out!!! LOL
