any Breeding books you all found helpful
i have so far purchased......................

"The book Of The Bitch" & "Dog Breeding" by E Fitch Daglish
thanks to e-bay :-D lol

i am thinking of possibly breeding from my 2 girls in the future
all  going well with the correct health tests first of course &
breeding restrictions being lifted by breeders & of course
me being able to commit the time and ££ needed to
breed a litter

so...at the moment i am looking for books that may help me
understand more about breeding and whats involved etc or do
the  2 books i have cover more or less what i need to know

thanks Michelle & gang xx

A really in depth book about your breed (preferably written by a UK author in the breed and not an american one as conditons vary so much between the countries) is often very useful as it will be able to give details that a general book on breeding can't do, such as breed peculiarities.

I also found 'the whelping and rearing of puppies' by Muriel Lee good :)

I like this book as well.
Spiral bound so the pages stay open. Useful if you are trying to tube a pup and need to check on something!!
Also only includes whelping and rearing ( obvious from the title i suppose :)) but covers it in-depth rateher than just a chapter or two in a more 'general' breeding book

I find the E Fitch Daglish terribly dated and some of the suggested procedures a bit suspect, but the pictures are fascinating! 'Dogs and How to Breed Them' by Hilary Harmer is useful.
