Did anybody see Paul and Heather Macartney on the news last night looking at a vidio of the poor dogs and cats crammed into small cages waiting to be skinned for there fur,it was shocking,I hardly slept last night it upset me so much. What a cruel race.

>What a cruel race.

That's outrageous! So, some Chinese people are cruel. Yes, It's appalling. But some British people are cruel too - you don't condemn the whole race because of it. We cram chickens into tiny cages and then hang them by their feet to cut their heads off. And I bet you buy the corpses from the supermarket. That's just as cruel.

Yes, I saw the video, and yes, it's shocking. But save your condemnation for the culprits, not all their countrymen.

There is no such thing as cruel race, only cruel people..... I don't think we have a right judge, because we will be judged ourselves. I have seen how some people used to kill foxes in England and it wasn't a pretty site (I'm not sure if it's still legal to hunt in your country though). Not just in UK though, all around the world terrible things happen to sweet animals. But that's the way it is.....we are animals ourselves after all. Actually much worse than animals.....

Thias is a difficult call - there are such huge cultural differences regarding attitudes to animals between countries - the only way forward is education - in Korea it was commonplace for dogs to be tortured and killed for food ( and dog meat is still believed to be 'health giving' by the older generation there). However the younger generation views this as outdated and repugnant and soon this practice will be a thing of the past. Pressure from the Korean governments initiated by education programmes from western aid societies have brought about this change ( in much the same way that hunting is seen as anachronistic in this country now) .

It is a slow process and needs to be done sensitively but progres is being made against the fur trade in China and other animal abuses around the world.

I've seen something like that on the tv awhile back, I too cried... If they do kill the animals for their fur then I think just like any other animal they should be killed humanly and with respect. No animal should die totured with pain :(
