I need some help. i live in the northkent area and was quietly walking my very docile labrador on a lead this afternoon. out of nowhere came some sort of terrier and attacked both my dog and myself. the dog is ok and I am okay having been to casulty for a tetnus jab and antibiotics. i am concerned that this could have been a horrific attack on a child. the owner of course wouldnt give name and address but she also had a dalmation. Does anyone now who this might be as the police cant do anything unless i can identify the owner.

I had something similar with my son being boitten - the woman wouldn't give me her address, so I took her reg number off her car.
Problem is, its doubtful she will walk there again now - are there any other local parks or popular dog walks you could see if she frequents?
Edit to say - could the police not check if there have been any other complaints against a terrier type dog with a woman of her description?
Suggest you contact the local dog warden and the local police give description
of woman and her dogs.
That way if the woman's dog does attack again they already have your incident on file.

I agree - definately report it to the dog warden and police.. Even if it appears no action can be taken at this time due to lack of identity, there will be a record of it.
Thats terrible i hope you aren't too shaken, it's even worse that this lady would not give you any details.
thanks for all your support. i have had a result , just by asking a few fellow dog walkers I have been able to identify the dog and have subsequently been able to report the mater to the police. they suggest I contact the dog warden tomorrow
Fantastic news Borchesterlass.
Good luck :-)
however the dog warden now tells me that because it is only hearsay about where this dog lives they are unlikely to do anything about it!!!!!!!!!!!!
The lady in question should not be allowed to keep dogs imo.For one she obviously hasnt trained it and for two she should of exchanged details and not just walked away.I would be deverstated if our dog bit anyone and wouldnt hessitate to stop and speak to the people involved.
