Hello, can anyone recommend a car harness for a dog to travel in the car with?  Lynne x

Look here at the lower model; like baby seats, dog car harnesses are made to differing specifications, this has the highest spec available, it is not cheap however................

Another high spec option is the Roadie

Having tried both of these, I would strongly advise against either.

The Roadie would be a great harness - if dogs would actually keep them on.  Unfortunately however, all they have to do is reverse backwards and they've shucked out of them.  Very dangerous when you're driving a long and suddenly have a loose dog in the car on a motorway.

The Over the Top harness again is a great concept, or would be - if the dog would not get tangled up in all the straps involved and need constant rescuing from it and them before s/he breaks a leg.

Instead, I'd recommend the Mikki car harness.  This comes in various sizes which are all adjustable with straps and you can decide how much movement your dog should have.  The Mikki harnesses might not look the most flashest or have the highest specs, but they do actually work, unlike the others.

I have had one(called hi craft) for some time and it was a complete waste of money, doesn't seem very safe to me !
I was constantly turning around to sort mines feet out as he kept getting tangled up in it.We've gone back to a good old travel crate for ours.

I also had (and still have) an Hi Craft harness for my 13 week old lab.  If its not fitted within 0.3 seconds she gets it into her mouth whilst im trying to work out which clip goes into which bit.  Shed have to be asleep to get it on!  It was about £7.99 so not too much of a waste of money!
