Hi I have a Golden Retriever nd was hoping to work him, however he will not make it.  I was going to keep him as a pet but I would like to have an activity with him as i work all of my labs.

I thought showing might be good activity for us both.

My question is how do we start, he is a little over a year - is this an ok age to start from?  Also does anyone know of any training classes in the Central Scotland area either at nights or weekends.

Many thanks for your help

Firstly is he KC Registered?......if not then you will only be able to take part in companion shows, agility or obedience.....secondly is he a good representitive of the breed?..............have you asked your breeder about showing him thats usually the best starting angle.I cant help with training clubs in your area but if you trawl through the club pages on this site it might help you.... www.bestofbreeds.co.uk        sorry cant do links!
hope this helps
