No replies really needed to this one but I lost my cat last Tuesday and despite ringing all the rescues, posting notices and rewards there was nothing.  I had really given up hope to be honest but last night he appeared as normal at the back door.  I'm so relieved as I thought he had gone forever.  He was none the worse for wear and I'm sure he's been in someone's house all this time.

Point is, there have been posts on here about people's lost cats so if yours does disappear don't give up.  If they are alive it seems they will eventually find their way home.  And if you do find a cat without a collar, please please don't assume it's a stray.  Someone may be worried out there.

We had a cat that did regular disappearing acts. Once she went missing for a fortnight and it turned out she had been locked in a garage while the family were on holiday :( We were so lucky that she survived but she was extremly skinny. Another time she spent several days locked in a coal shed and turned up so black that we didn't recognise her (she was mostly white) The same cat lived to be 17, so she really must have had 9 lives.

Lol well yes, Harley has gone missing before for a day or two and came home as black as coal (he's black and white anyway) and once a cat rescue lifted him as he went into their food trap for a reported stray (typical!).  But I was really worried this time.  My old Johnboy cat lived to be 17 and my old Kitty cat lived to 21 so there's hope for Harley yet :)

LOL glad he is home safe. Our main worry is BBQs in the summer one of ours cant resist and has burnt his paws stealing from them. Sometimes we even hear the indignant shouts :D

glad he's back!  One of my brother's cats routinely goes missing for 2 or 3 days, then strolls back in right as rain :) for the longest time we couldn't work out where she went until we spoke to our neighbour - turns out the cheeky wench goes to her house for meals!

We used to have a cat like that, she regularly went missing for 2-3 days, we found out someone up the road thought she was a stray and was feeding her and letting her sleep in the house.  We found that the cats normal routine was to sleep over night in our house have breakfast, stroll down the road for a mid morning snack, stay at the other house till about 5 have some food then back to ours ready for us to get home have her tea and then sleep.

This went on for about 6 - 8 months without us knowing until the vet told us she was getting too fat so my younger brother followed her to find out where she was getting all the extra food from :D
