My mistake Leanne - but at least I've not made the mistakes that YOU have!

If I say what I really think of your actions, after all the advice you were given, and the responses tht you gave then, I'd be banned from Champdogs - and I think more of staying on Champdogs than I do of you.

You really are such a ...... words fail me - and that doesn't happen often.

This is a quote from a statement issued jointly by Dog's Trust, Battersea Dogs Home, Staffordshire Bull Terrier Welfare and the KC:

"If you want a genuine Stafford then only purchase a Kennel Club registered puppy or dog from a responsible breeder, whose details can be obtained from the Kennel Club or any breed club registered with the KC."
- By Goldmali Date 28.11.05 15:23 UTC

>can you tell me what you all think is the big importance of having a kc reg dog? so long as its fit and healthy and >pedigree thats all that matters, especially if all you're looking for is a pet.

For a start NO owner of a good stud dog with all relevant health testst etc would allow him anywhere near an unregistered bitch, so she cannot possibly have been mated to the most suitable stud.

Read this about Staffies in crisis according to the KC as they are so overbred:

I wasnt going to reply to this but feel too strongly.

You have made a big mistake, you were advised not to breed but still went ahead no doubt thinking of the £'s.  Maybe you will see that breeding a litter doesnt = £££.  But what is done is done and I hope one day you learn to take advice from EXPERIENCED people that care.  Look at the links people have sent you and READ them.  Also have a look here and hope none of your puppies kids end up like this. http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/hopeuk/thinking.htm

If you have already read the book of the bitch then good but keep reading.  Why havent you bought the stuff already especially if she is due anyday, you should have bought the stuff ages ago!!!!!

I hope you have put money aside for vet treatment as this litter will cost you money as any litter will.

People have a right to condem you on here in the hope that someone else reading this forum will think again before being as irresponsible as you have been.

I hope that your puppies do live a healthy and happy life and also hope they are not bred from adding to the vast numbers of staffs in rescue.  I also hope you are careful when selling them to people.  And I truely hope you do not loose your bitch in the process - did you think of that?

Can you contact your vets and ask if they know a responsible/experienced breeder locally who can help you whelp the puppies?

The deed is done and yes you do need the correct supplies, I have sent you a PM with a link to a site where you should be able to buy most of what you need - I DO NOT agree with what you have done, i think it is disgusting but you need help and for some reason have the balls to ask for it ???

Because you havent carried out the health tests you are liable should anything go wrong.  YOU will be held responsible should these puppies develop a genetic condition.

Anyway rant over and I hope you will be getting your bitch spayed before her next season.

I WILL MAKE NO MONEY FROM BREEDING MY GIRL, AS THE LITTER WILL COST ME ENOUGH AND I AM HAVING MY GIRL SPAYED WITH THE MONEY I HAVE LEFT OVER-IF ANY!
I CAN APPRECIATE WHAT YOURE SAYIN ABOUT A KC REG DOG, WHICHIS WHY MY NEXT PURCHASE WILL BE A KC REG STAFF. I NEED TO LEARN LESSONS AND I WILL HAVE TO LEARN THEM ALONE, BUT THE LEAST I ASK IS GENERAL ADVICE
- By JenP Date 28.11.05 16:23 UTC
Then please can you tell us why, inspite advice to the contrary, you are breeding her?  I'm interested to know what motivated you to do so.
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:24 UTC
YOU'LL GET NO MORE ADVICE FROM ME!  I DON'T CHOOSE TO CHAT WITH CHUMPS WHO ASK FOR ADVICE THEN GO THEIR OWN STUPID, SELFISH WAY.   JUST GO AWAY - FIND ANOTHER BOARD!
- By lsmith2405 [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:28 UTC
LOOK LOKIS MUM, YOU GO FIND ANOTHER SUBJECT TO READ. I DO NOT HAVE TO AND WILL NOT GO FIND ANOTHER BOARD. IF YOU DONT WISH TO TALK TO ME THEN THATS FINE. JUST STOP WRITING. CHUMP!

I hope those angry faces arent for me?  :-)
- By lsmith2405 [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:30 UTC
IF THOSE ANGRY FACES ARE FOR YOU LIISA, IGNORE THEM. YOU HAVE HELPED ME MORE THAN WHAT ANY OF THE OTHERS HAVE, WELL APART FROM ONE LADY WHO I SHALL NOT NAME, WHICH STILL TALKS TO ME TO DATE AND HAS BEEN AN EXTREME HELP TO ME AS SHES BEEN SLATED ON HERE BUT SHES PROVED THEM ALL WRONG
- By Val [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:35 UTC
We get the occasional puppy farmer drop in here.  They usually find a fluffy board where they feel more comfortable, and then only come back when they need to ask advice! ;)

I can think of one who will offer to help other puppy producers.  The rest of us do our best to encourage and maintain ethical breeding.
- By chocymolly [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:35 UTC
No  :)  angry faces not for you, Liisa I think you gave a very suppotive response to ISmith2405, it's just a shame that she is so rude to every one here and doesn't heed the advice given, she is a sad lady who likes to argue,
- By jas Date 28.11.05 16:38 UTC
The deed is now done, the bitch is pregnant and lectures aren't going to help now. Surely we should help for the sake of the bitch and her pups?
- By lsmith2405 [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:40 UTC
jas, thats the most sensible thing ive had said to me all day! this is all im asking anyone for
- By Val [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:40 UTC
To help maintain the cycle of badly bred Staffies?  Sorry not me. :(  That's like buying pups from puppy farms to get them out of the awful conditions.

Let the owner pay the Vet's bill and get her bitch spayed.  Maybe the honorable stud dog owner could help?  They have input to these pups.
- By jas Date 28.11.05 16:42 UTC
Val, I don't approve of the mating any more than anyone else who has posted but as I see it the bitch and pups are now the priorities.
- By Val [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:44 UTC
jas, so are all the other breeding bitches in puppy farms.  This bitch's dam was one of them!

The only thing that would help this poor bitch is a responsible owner. :(
- By lsmith2405 [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:47 UTC
jas, maybe no one agrees with what i have done,. but the reason im on here is for the well being of my girl and her pups. so maybe you care about dogs n maybe u can help me?
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:50 UTC

>the reason im on here is for the well being of my girl

Nonsense! If you cared for her well-being you wouldn't have had her mated. You're risking her health, even life, purely for cash.
- By jas Date 28.11.05 16:58 UTC
I DON'T agree with what you've done but you can get most of what you need at http://www.hyperdrug.com/products.asp?dept=46. As well as the sterile stuff, bottles, bitches milk replacement etc, you should have Nutridrops and Dopram V on hand.
- By Val [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:51 UTC
"LIISA, IGNORE THEM. YOU HAVE HELPED ME MORE THAN WHAT ANY OF THE OTHERS HAVE, WELL APART FROM ONE LADY WHO I SHALL NOT NAME, WHICH STILL TALKS TO ME TO DATE AND HAS BEEN AN EXTREME HELP TO ME "

Don't worry jas, she's got help from these folk and her Vet.  The rest is in the lap of the Gods.  You and me are not responsible for this person's abuse of her bitch.
- By lsmith2405 [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:55 UTC
jas, pm me and we can talk that way. otherwise you're going to get slated by these sad acts too!
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:42 UTC
For the sake of the breed as a whole, the best advice would be to have the bitch spayed now. But that'll be ignored, so what's the point?
- By lsmith2405 [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:44 UTC
i do plan on getting my girl spayed with the moeny i get from selling her pups
- By chocymolly [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:46 UTC
You shouldn't need to have a litter from your bitch to be able to afford having her spayed.
- By Val [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:46 UTC
"i do plan on getting my girl spayed with the moeny i get from selling her pups"

I find your attitude unbelievable! :(
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:47 UTC
You were advised to get her spayed without taking a litter from her. What will you do if, as is highly likely, you lose money with the litter? Have another, then another, then another, in the hope you'll make some cash from your poor bitch?
- By lsmith2405 [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:49 UTC
this is her one and only litter, dont be so meladramatic
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:51 UTC
As I said, what if you end up out of pocket with this litter? Where will the money come from to have her spayed?
- By lsmith2405 [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:54 UTC
if i end up out of pocket, i end up out of pocket. so what?
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:56 UTC
Then how will you afford to get her spayed, as you say you're going to do that with the money you make from selling the puppies!
- By lsmith2405 [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:57 UTC
i just wont mate her again, god is that so hard?!
- By JenP Date 28.11.05 16:58 UTC
You still haven't said why you mated her in the first place!
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 28.11.05 17:00 UTC
Money, Jen. There's no other possible reason.
- By lsmith2405 [gb] Date 28.11.05 17:03 UTC
money?!?! how much do you think i'll make? i will have vet bills treatment.general up keep and having my girl spayed? exactly how much do you think i'll make!?
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 28.11.05 17:04 UTC
:D
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 28.11.05 17:05 UTC

>i do plan on getting my girl spayed with the moeny i get from selling her pups

That money.

Which as you've suddenly realised, is unlikely to be forthcoming. So I predict you'll have another bash at this new venture.
- By Val [gb] Date 28.11.05 17:05 UTC
Says it all, doesn't it?? ;)
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 28.11.05 17:07 UTC
Maybe a reality check is appearing........
- By lsmith2405 [gb] Date 28.11.05 17:08 UTC
reality check about what? i know its costly
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 28.11.05 17:10 UTC
Well we did tell you in the previous thread, didn't we?   But YOU said that money didn't matter, didn't you?
- By lsmith2405 [gb] Date 28.11.05 17:11 UTC
the money doesnt matter, im not doing it for the money

Keep saying it and you might convince yourself..........
- By Vagabond [gb] Date 28.11.05 17:11 UTC
I hope you've got several thousand pounds to hand in the event the bitch requires veterinary assistance during whelping. It is common for Staffies to birth by ceasarian section.
- By lsmith2405 [gb] Date 28.11.05 17:12 UTC
yes, i have that covered snowallen
- By JenP Date 28.11.05 17:13 UTC
Is there any particular reason why you'll reply to everyone else's posts but not mine !!!
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 28.11.05 16:59 UTC
It certainly seems to be. You didn't manage it last time.
- By olivetor Date 28.11.05 17:05 UTC
So What? Will you be saying that if you end up with a dead bitch, dead pups and a massive vets bill?

I am shocked that you have not taken the advice that you were given previously from experienced breeders on this board. I pray your bitch is OK and that the pups are born without genetic defects....however, if I was you I would start saving some money now - you may find yourself with compensation claims in the near future.
