Its quite mild here today NO SNOW, where is it!!!!!! dry and dull. anyone else got no snow and I am in Scotland. We very rarely get a lot of snow here, my grandkids were looking for the snow today and were disappointed that there was none. Bet it snows tomorrow as my daughter moves house and ive got the kids here and their dog.

We've got it in Cornwall, lots of it.  In all the time I've been here we've never had snow like it.  It's lovely!!!!!!!!!!
- By Isabel Date 25.11.05 14:09 UTC
It must have been around about '79 when I was spending Christmas at my sister's in Truro and it snowed heavily.  Never seen it settling like that before and, of course, no gritters in the County :)  She tried to drive me to the station to go home but the car just spun down the hill so we abandoned it, thought about what we could do suitable for wintery conditions and went to the pub for a lovely Stones Ginger Wine leaving homegoing for the next day :)

- By chocymolly [gb] Date 25.11.05 16:21 UTC
No snow in The New Forest either, but freezing cold, I do like frosty mornings though because Molly stays lovely and clean, all the bogs are frozen over and I don't have to wash her off!

We hardly ever get the snow here.
- By janeandkai [in] Date 25.11.05 17:06 UTC
Thought you'd all like to know........ I have the snow a good few inches of it ;) also the strong winds and even had a thunderstorm this afternoon up here in the moray county of scotland.
Gosh it has been wild, had to negotiate fallen trees on the way back from the supermarket this morning and that was before the worst of the weather hit. Kids have been off school all day and the daft hound has been out there trying to catch the snow and hail....
Im now trying to dry the house, kids and dog out

heres hoping for a dryer day tomorro :)

No snow on the Isle of Wight yet, but they have forecast some for this evening - if it does snow here can it be only a faint sprinkling as we have a companion show tomorrow

We had a really bad case of being snowwed in all day friday and most of Saturday. Our village was closed off and all of the A30.I had 2 teenage sons in the high school 3 miles away that i was lucky enough to get home as their school friends dad had a 4 by 4.Others were not so lucky and had to sleep over at the school at night with food and sleeping bags airlifted in via helicopter. My 10 year old dissabled son attends a special needs school aprox 30 miles away and he ended up having to go home with his teacher for the night. It was terrible. The local school closed down at 1.30pm.The village didnt reopen till Saturday afternoon. My  2 older sons spent the evening running errands for all the retired people in the village, going to the shop and shovelling snow.I wouldnt let them take any money for their jobs from the old folks so it cost ME a fortune.lololol.
- By echo [gb] Date 27.11.05 17:43 UTC
Hi Guiness are you near Bodmin.  We are Fowey - had to go out and rescue my sons girl freind when the bus broke down as the local bus company announced 'There will be no more services in or out of St Austell as we don't want to put our passengers or staff at risk'.  Isn't that typical they didn't give a hoot about the ones who were already stranded.
- By guiness [gb] Date 27.11.05 18:55 UTC
We are in a little village just outside st austell, about 10 miles away from Bodmin. My friends husband was comming home from work in Bodmin and it took him from 11.45am till 10.30pm to travel 10 miles.!!!!!!So many schools were closed down here but no coach company or school arranged any other way of getting the kids home. There were 12/13 year old kids walking 3 miles home down main roads with no street lights,or footpaths at 7.30pm in the evening.!!!!!! I was disscusted when i found that the headmaster from the special needs school that my 10yr old son attends, had decided to go home at 1pm and leave the rest of the school to make up their own minds on what to do.The high school that my two older sons attend was closed that afternoon but both deptuty head teachers and a couple of other teachers slept at the school with all the kids that were stranded.Im just so glad that its over for the time being,i was so disstressed when i found that my dissabled son wouldnt be home that night.First  sign of snow now and my boy doesnt go to school.hehehe.

We had snow then it all went away, which Iam glad and this year I ask Santa for a very merry GREEN x-mas, snow can go away and come again next year. Just wish it would warm up some. I don't think Iam going to get my present cause I noticed some white stuff kinda blowing in the wind and starting to sprinkle on the ground, just hope when I wake tomorrow it was all a dream and the ground will all be green.

I guess we are suppose to have a mild winter this year, which is just fine with me cause I hate driving in the snow and scraping windows, thank goodness for command start. If hubby actually knew how long I let the car run in the morning he'd probably flip, O'well I hate cold but no more then 10 min I leave it run ;)
- By peilady [gb] Date 28.11.05 08:54 UTC

- By Natalie1212 Date 28.11.05 09:42 UTC
We have about an inch here in Accrington, but I don't think it is going to stay for long, now the temperature has come up a bit, it is melting quicker than it is falling, but fingers crossed it get's a bit more of a covering (and stays till the new year!!) :D
- By Brunodog Date 28.11.05 09:49 UTC

Its snowing here in Liverpool. Huge flakes too. Gabi thinks its wonderfull. It's not been snowing for long enough to stick just yet. Walkies in an hour when her breakfast has gone down.
- By Ioxia [gb] Date 28.11.05 09:56 UTC
Its snowing in Dewsbury and I can see it moving across, and its started snowing those tiny flakes, waiting for the cloud to hit.
- By echo [gb] Date 28.11.05 10:41 UTC
Hi Guiness

I emailed my sons college to say that he wouldn't be in because the roads weren't fit for him to ride his motor bike and they told me his EMA might be stopped.  I am waiting with baited breath to see if they do stop it because there will be a very public disagreement about this.
- By munkeemojo Date 28.11.05 10:30 UTC
its been snowing on and off all morning so far. It was piddling it down firts though, so its melting as soon as hits the ground. Poo!
- By mackleback Date 28.11.05 10:41 UTC
Snowing here today, just light showers though!! :-( But we got the car stuck in snow yesterday!! We went to aviemore and there was a lot there.
- By spanishwaterdog [gb] Date 28.11.05 11:15 UTC
It's been snowing here in South Manchester too this morning stuck for about 2 hours.  It's all disappeared now though.
- By guiness [gb] Date 28.11.05 12:24 UTC
Wahooooooooooooo, its rained for the last two days and the snow has finally melted. It hasnt been very cold either so we have no ice on the road.It was nice while it lasted but i wouldnt want it to go on for any longer. It was just the fact that we were all so unprepared for the bad weather that made the situation worse. We have not had snow that bad for as long as i can remember here in cornwall.
- By Brunodog Date 28.11.05 13:06 UTC
Eeeeeeeeeek its snowing loads here now :)
- By Kash [gb] Date 28.11.05 13:11 UTC
Minniedog- are you actually in Herringthorpe now?- There's the odd flake in Brinsworth but nothing to shout about nor is it likely to settle either since it's been drizzling all day :-(  A friend has just phoned and said she's in Mexborough and there's loads of the stuff there too :-o  I want it to settle here!

- By Brunodog Date 28.11.05 13:14 UTC
