I'm being a wimp I know but it feels so strange!  My false tooth has come out and I can't get an appointment at the Dentists until tomorrow afternoon.  I have a huge gap in the side of my mouth and I don't know if it's ok to eat!  I tried to get the receptionist to ask the Dentist but basically dismissed my childish whinging and said it can wait until tomorrow!  I know I'm probably being really silly but the hole feels huge!  What if I get something stuck in it?  Aggh.  Has anyone had this happen?

I had a crown come off a few weeks ago, I just ate on the otherside of my mouth.  If you are really that worried, eat soft food or soup for today.

Could you give NHS Direct a call and ask them for advice if you're worried?  I know its not a medical problem as such but they maybe able to put your mind at rest until your appointment tomorrow.

That or as already advised, try eating soft foods or soup for today.  :-)

Didn't think about soup!  Brilliant, I'm sooo hungary. Off to get some tomato soup right now.  Thanks!

If its a false tooth as opposed to a crown, then the gum underneath will have hardened up, and there would be no open wound, so it should be fine to eat on, might just feel a little odd tho :)

Mmmmm Shepherds Pie.....

Has anyone got a really nice and easy recipe for Shepherds (or Cottage) Pie??

I've just been shopping and got some big pie dishes and don't know where to start with cooking them!!

Anyone???

I always put a tin of chopped tomatoes in with the mince meat, suppose to be a good prevention to cancer, specially prostate cancer in men. Then you can also boil some sweede in with the potatoes and mash it together.Another variation is after you have mashed the potatoes then whisk in two raw eggs before you top it and put it back in the oven to bake.Cheese on the top is nice and also sliced tomatoes.I have alot of different things i put in when i make shepherds pie as its a good way to get the kids to eat all the things that are good for them that they see as being yukky.hehehehe.

You're right Liberty!  No pain or blood so gum has hardened fortunately.  But I just have this huge hole in my gum and it feels really revolting!  I'm such a baby.
