Ok everyone, I'm not one of those people who dresses their dogs up all the time or carries them round in handbags! I do however enter the fancy dress competition at the local dog training club party. This year I got 2 fantastic hats at Discover Dogs, but what I need is a gingham or check dress that would fit a Cavalier, or failing the dress at a price my OH won't go about about, I need somewhere that sells gingham or check materials. I've tried a couple of quilt shop websites without luck. Any ideas?

Hi Lucy,  Other than ebay I can only think of American websites.  But for mail order gingham you could phone a place near me called Dainty Supplies, they are in Washington (Tyne & Wear) and do fabric and craft supplies by mail order.  Prices are very reasonable indeed.  Sorry, cant find an invoice from them at the moment with their phone number.  They have gingham in about 5 or 6 colour checks.
bye

Have you tried looking in charity shops?

That was going to be my next port of call if I ever have time to get into town to real shops! I've got a friend who thinks she may have something, which would be much cheaper after the amount I spent on the hats!! Not sure I'm good enough at sewing to make a dog dress, but we shall see!!

Have a look at Tesco's site, they have some wonderful children's clothes at not expensive prices either, even better when the sales on :d
