Just been catching up on Eastenders - not very realistic is it - What dog would bite like that anyway?  Especially one that has been so placid for years.  I rather think that it has been given human characteristics by getting it's own back on Ian Beale.  A dog that really did bite like that would I think be a good case for concern.  Sorry getting late at night - but  the storyline does bother me somewhat - it is alright for dogs to bite as long as they only bite someone who is a pain in the neck. :-(

I haven't watched 'Enders for years, shouldn't Wellard be about 25 by now?

Almost -Wellard first appeared in 1994.

And he was full grown at that point wasn't he?  Do you think it is the same "actor".  I remember seeing him at Crufts at the height of his celebrity status :)

No I'm pretty certain it has been at least 2 -because the name always mentioned now (can't remember!) is not the same as was originally mentioned for the bitch playing Wellard. :)

I dog will turn round a bite is it's hurt though!  It's just self defence :(  I was bitten by a very friendly newfy once who I was having cuddles with and did so too after the incedent however grabed ad bit me while I was running past it screaming and chasing my brother who was also screaming.  I must have been about 5-6. 

So Wellard is at least 11 years old - I was pretty sure it wasn't the same dog.  So he should be looking grey around the muzzle perhaps a bit arthritic - they don't develop their animal characters very well do they.  Ghengis barely gets a look in - seems to spend most of his time in the back yard.  Betty is an adornment for Pauline.  But will Wellard get put down I wonder or get a last minute reprieve?
Nice to see an article in todays paper about children who are brought up with pets take less time off school on the whole.  It is great to have a dog again after a break of 2 years.  My 8 month old granddaughter wouldn't stay away from the dog while visiting this week.  She headed off to the dog gate every time she was put on the floor to crawl.

What do you mean? His muzzle is well and truly grey :)

the current 'Wellard' is the daughter of the original - I think she's 'Minka' breeding.

No, I'm sure it was a different Terv - the ears looked completely different.

Arr, thought the greying muzzle looked the same!

Some BSDs have greying muzzles as new borns (some lines are known to carry them ) so never let that fool you !

Wellard's ears are quite far apart, but I noticed the ears on the Terv in Casualty were pointy and nearly touching. (It sounds really sad to notice details like this! :D :D)

I don't watch Casualty, but both Wellard and Terrence  were seen in "Sugar Rush" a few months ago. :)

They want to watch they don't get typecast :)

Funny the type of dog they chose to play the part though.I dont think thats right.Why couldnt it be a different breed of dog that was portrayed as being the nasty kind that bit people,what ever the reason.It never seems to be a papillion or a westie or anything like that.My brother was a postman in a small rural village for over 20 years and he only ever got bitten three times,all three times from the same dogs in the smae house.They were small terrier type cross breeds no taller than knee height.!!!!!
