i now own a rescued akita, he originally came from a litter from dogs owned by Mrs D A Wardle in Wingate Co Durham. The SIre was Spirit of the Prairie and the Dam was Elegant Empress. I am trying to find out if the dog i own is KC reg and if so what the KC number and name is. if anyone knows of her or can help me please contact me on sparkling_rocket_fuel@hotmail.com

many thanks,

Hailey.

I was under the impression that if a new litter of pups is going to be registered with the Kennel Club then it is done by the breeder before they are rehomed.  Therefore, if this was the case with yours you should (surely) have been given your pups papers then.  Have you not got any contact details for the breeder in order to ask her?  I do know that not all breeders give the papers out but whether or not this is right or wrong/up to each breeder/only done by breeders who don't show their dogs I couldn't tell you.

I gathered from the post that the akita was "rescued" and not got from the breeder.  Most rescue centres/breed rescues don't give out registration papers.

I must be a fast reader as I hadn't noticed the word 'rescued' but I see it now. Yeah the rescue centres don't pass on the papers even if they were given to them when the dog was brought in :)

I've tried searching the web for akita breeders in the county durham area but nothing has turned up for the name you specified.  Also nothing returns on the dam or sire names so I'm afraid I can't help you on that one - sorry!

Have you tried getting in touch with the rescue centre you got the dog from to see if they've got any papers (all details would be on there)?  I'm not sure what their policy is on giving these details out though assuming that they do have them.

:)

Hi, if you have the Date of Birth as well as sire and dams names, you can just phone the Kennel Club and ask if they have a litter registered to those dogs - or even if those dogs are registered themselves.  Looking at the names given it would appear neither has an affix, so perhaps they are "pet bred" and may nothave registered themselves.

Don't know which search engines you are using but aol google, google and internet explorer aren't very good at picking up dog names from the show report websites, I have tried this myself with dogs I know have won CC's, BOB's etc this year  ;) and they very rarely come up these days :(  you have to check the show websites ;)   This is a recent thing as it used to work really well, don't know why its happening tho :(  Maybe this is also happening with the name of the person you're looking for?  Have you tried one of the online phone directories?

Wardles appear to have the affix Severnside ...at least the only Akita/Wardle combi I could come up with had a few dogs names ' at Servernside' ...maybe that will give you something to go on?

I've also found an Afghan Hound "at Severnside"  on pedigree website - don't know if this helps?

quite frankly, aol search engine (powered by google  )  is completely cr*p at the moment and Google and IE are just as bad, I have broadband for goodness sakes!  it was better than this on normal Internet connection !!!

Erm ...*I* used google for the search that I did and had no problems ..are you sure you dont have any spyware on your PC that is slowing things up ?

Hi, I don't think that is the same Wardle - the Servensides Akitas are owned by a Mrs  GR Wardle,  and are based near Bristol. Not the same initials as the OP stated, and completely the other end of the country.  Have had a look in a few local open show catalogues, but cannot find any Wardle bred Akitas showing round here.  Jsut to repeat what I said before, the sire and dams names sound as if they are "pet bred", so web searches not likley to bring up pedigrees, strings of winners etc.
bye
