Topic Other Boards / Foo / Vax Pet Vacuum Cleaner??

My Dyson's just about giving up the fight for life again!!!!! Have seen a Vax Pet Vacuum for sale and wondered if anyone has had (or got) one, and whether they are any good??? We're very reluctant to try another Dyson as they seem to be very unreliable - especially when you see numerous 'reconditioned' ones for sale.......

We have a Black Lab & a Cocker who both seem to be permanently moulting, so any new appliance needs to be VERY good!!!!  Thank you.

Try changing their diet. One of mine used to moult continually until I found a diet that suited her. No idea on the vac Im afraid.

I used to have one (have had them all LOL), think it lasted me a bit longer than usual, maybe even a couple of years. Nothing was as bad as the Dyson although the Morphy Richards Pets only lasted 6 months. Am now on the recommendation of several others here using a Henry, and so far so good......... But I'll reserve judgement until I've had it for 6 months at least.

We've got the Electrolux vitesse - bagless and excellent for pet hairs - but the filter's a nightmare to clean, so I've retrieved Henry from my daughter (whose got a bagged Electrolux ) and now use him to clean the filter.....:D :D :D

i can't believe how many people on CD who've had dyson problems. I had the very first one they brought out, donated to me after my sister-in-law upgraded to a Dyson Animal after about 7 yrs. I had it for 3, and it was brilliant! I then gave it to my parents after getting the Dyson DC08 (got sick of hauling an upright up and down the stairs-mine are spiralish so was a 'mare), which i've now had for three years. Its been no problem at all, but saying that, its only 3 yrs old! Perhaps i've just jinxed it..........

as for vax vacuum cleaners, i have no experience of them, bar the super fabulous Vax Rapide XL carpet washer.  If the vacuums are as good as that, i'd have thought it'd be good.

After several Dysons I have had my Henry Hound for two months and love it!! Half the price of a Dyson and so much better with 8 dogs in the house.................and its cute!!

We've got a Vax Big Bubble (bagless) and it's excellent IMHO - had a dyson and got rid of it but have never looked back with my Vax - filter is very easy to clean too.

Have two dogs, boxer and a springer cross, plus three kids and between them all there is always loads to hoover up and it just picks up everything in it's path without a grumble (bit like a dog itself really :) !)

Ive got the Vax 1300 Luna, not a specific pet vacuum but i think its brilliant. This model does wet and dry (if you havnet lost the btis that make it do wet), hard floors or carpet.

Can definately say its great which ever way you use it (my mum has one too), and for a non pet vaccuum it really does pick up a LOT of hair!
