Hello everybody,i'm new on here although i've been reading all of your posts for a while.I've got a question for you if you can help me.I have a litter of 1 week old pups,5 boys and 1 girl and am planning to keep the bitch.Talking to my vet last night ,she said to me that being only one girl with that many boys she may well have an aggresive streak due to all the testosterone in the uterus during pregnancy.Have any of you  heard of this?

I'd say that's nonsense. My bitch was the only one in her litter - she had 6 brothers - and she's the sweetest, gentlest dog you can imagine. Her temperament is 100% sound, to animals and humans alike. She's the most tolerant, reliable animal around children, even toddlers, that you could ever hope to meet.

I have a rather butch mannered bitch (lovely character but a tomboy) abnd she was in a litter of 6 bitches and 3 dogs.  I think it is nonsence myself.

Same here JG, Ellie was the only bitch in the litter I had last year and I kept her, she is the sweetest, always looking for snuggles and her temperament is second to none. She is amazing with children and lives comfortably with 6 other bitches

Vets do their best! They read all the books but very few have specialist knowledge or experience. ;)
