Just wondering if its normal for a dog to be "full of beans" after being castrated.  Arthur was "done" yesterday and was a bit dopey when he came home but was fighting it all the way, his head was wobbling but he wouldnt give in to sleep.  He was restless last night and this morning its like hes on some sort of energy enhancing drug. Hes hyper.  Poor Lilly (pup) hasnt had a minute he just wants to play.  Its hell trying to stop them.  Just wondering how some of your dogs have reacted to the same operation.

It is probably not the operation itself but it may be a reaction to the anaesthetic or one of the drugs.

Try giving your dog some milk thistle once a day, this detoxifies the liver.

Thanks Tohme,  I have milk thistle for hangover prevention so I will give him a bit.  He seems a bit more himself today.

Yep mine reacted like that, was supposed to be on crate rest but was running round the walls. My vet told me the best thing to do was enough lead walking to take the steam out of him. Boy did we walk miles! However uncontrolled excercise was a no no until the stiches were out.
