This is the 1st day of the rest of Sophies life.  Training starts now!!!.  Just realised that Sophie has no social graces and that every dog and human is on this earth for her enjoyment.  Her one aim in life is to kiss as many of the above as possible.  At a dog show yesterday she was very naughty (but she enjoyed herself).  After she gave the judge her kiss, she then tried to steal her glasses (on a string around the judges neck) and then she decided to jump up on her lovely cream suit - in between trying to play with all the other dogs in her class.  Oh dear - last week the judge said that she was a very naughty 7 mth old pup - she still gave her second place in minor puppy.  Training starts today!

I'd much rather have a pup like that than one who shies away from the judge. :D

I must confess to preferring naughtiness to apathy! Although you do have to be careful about fooling yourself that endearingly wicked habits are acceptable and for sure, there are many times when I have to restrain the laughter round here. At the end of the day, though, give me a pup with a bit of spark in it because a bright pup is almost always easier to train!

My puppy's like that, she kisses the judge and wriggles like mad on the table trying to get herself stroked all over!! Drives me mad, but after turning my older boy into a dishrag for a year by trying to calm him down and make him behave, I would much rather have the mad waggy puppy than a well behaved bored one. She has to enjoy showing, after all! :-)
