i think my little one is pregnant but i dont know about my bigger one.
My litttle one is eating more than usual and snapping at other dogs
not like her, she got tied 4 times.
Whether my biggest one only got tied 2 times and shes still on her season heavy,
could she still be pregnant?
i look foward to any help you can give me

eating more and snapping at other dogs isnt a sure sign of pregnancy i had a dog years ago that had a phantom pregnancy even after she tied with the male and she got fat produce milk slept more nested but i knew she wasnt pregnant cause of the vet check have them both checked by a vet it is the only way you will know
Yes i think thats a good idea, its only been a few days the vet on the phone
told me to bring them in for scans at 4 weeks.. Il just wait and see its sooo
very exciting though!! my bitches and nearlly 4 1st time i have decided 2 breed
them.. tnx 4replyin :)

WOW!! You've mated both your bitches at the same time & it will be your first litters!! You are either very mad or very brave & sure of everything!! One litter takes up an awful lot of time & energy but 2 ~ phew I need a lie down at the thought ;)

Not to mention finding responsible homes for all those puppies :(

Sorry Borderpride, can't say it's mad or brave...just plain stoopid! Have any health checks been done on the Breeding stock?? Either the dogs or bitches??

I was trying to be polite :D

Gosh darn it border...I aint got a diplomatic bone in me body!!! :D

Actually quite good for me ;)
Its the unknown question really are they or are they not pregant, only time will tell. Treat them both as normal, and at 6 weeks increase their food to 3 times a day instead of two times a day. I have used scans to find out my dogs, and at times its very helpful but generally I know they are in pup by 4 weeks. For a novice you would know about 6 weeks as the stomach would start to get bigger. Usually the way I tell is the nipples dont shrink back to normal size, as when a bitch has a season they enlarge slightly. They get to be like little buttons that are bigger than normal.
The bitch that is heavy in season again it could be she is not in pup, but if she has been mated, their is a bigger chance she is in pup.
THANK YOU silver dog for your help, il keep you posted, u been more help than anyone on this site :)

See now Border, silverdog put us both to shame...how am I gonna live with meself?? :D

Oh I'm sure you will ;)
If you're following the other thread as well then you might not think I've been quite so diplomatic ~ don't know what came over me :D

Yes I am following...but it's just too painful to participate!! I'd get banned from Champdogs if I said what I really wanted to! That's always been my problem...open me gob before I put brain into gear! I'm trying to change honest! :D :D :D
I hear a trip trap over the bridge ;)
wise to stay cool!!

Ha Ha :D :D
Must admit I don't know what has come over me, don't normally get involved in these type of threads for fear of saying too much!!
Fonzi,
I hope we have all given you at least something to think about, if you are aware of all of the risks and still want to go ahead then that is entirely up to you, but if things do go wrong, I hope you will stand up and take the flack for it.
I'm not going to wish you good luck because this situation is not at all down to luck, but I will keep my fingers crossed that both of your bitches have missed, and that you then get them spayed and let them be the pet's they are meant to be.
Nat

I see the other thread has now disappeared. I just hope Fonzilady that you have taken some of the given advice on board. Get yourself the Book Of The Bitch & pray that everything goes well for your beloved pets & any puppies they may have. You might even wish to tell your very mis-guided Vet about this forum :)
thank you :D il let use know
