Hi ,
if pregnant my bitch would be three weeks from first mating today.
What i want to know is, should her teats of gone really hard by know, because they acually arn't. she has gone really saggy underneath but she is really soft.
Her vulva is very spongy but has nearly returned to normal size, but not quite.
She hasn't had any morning sickness and she has not gone off her food.
I think i already know the answer but don't want to face it.
what do you think.
Hi Claudia,
I don't know what breed you have but in our small breed Holly had no obvious signs of pregnancy till she was around 5 weeks. Her weight was normal at 4 weeks, she never had morning sickness and her appetite remained normal till the latter stages. Maybe it's just a little to early to tell

It's far too early to tell. Many bitches don't show any sign at all of being pregnant until 5-6 weeks or even later. I had one bitch who "exploded" seemingly overnight from not looking at all pregnant to being enormous - and that was at 7-8 weeks.
Hi Claudia!
My bitch is now just over 7 weeks pregnant and there were no obvious signs until about a week and a half ago (apart from we had taken her for a scan)! Hope everything goes well!
My only major concern is that her vulva has nearly gone back to normal, has this happened to any of yours before.
Absolutely, our girl's was normal to the point that there was no obvious change till a few days before the birth so I would not gauge that as being a positive to being pregnant.
Fingers crossed that we hear good news in a few weeks time :-)

look at the vulva if still swollen then thats a pretty good indication my girls teats swell but dont go firm until around 4 days before she whelps
