Just been looking at a site cant mention which one - but its free one, Dont want another dog but just looking - and i came across one add which had a GS Bitch at 14 months,KC - has had a litter of 15 pups and would be good for breeding - the title was "loving home wanted!"
I dont think so when it also said the price was negotiable!

Also there was tons of pups on and in the title it would say "Ready for Xmas"

I thought it was appauling - the site shouldnt be allowing this as has been said before these pups will end up in a rescue centre - tha site is just adding to the problem.I know they cant vet every add but there were tons about xmas pups not just 1 or 2!
- By justlou Date 16.11.05 19:06 UTC
Joanna :-) I know what you mean, i visit lots of these free sites....because i'm looking for stolen dogs....and i seen one the other day, there was a women saying she needed to re-home her dog so that she could give her time to her other dog :-( then the next day she was advertising her other dog (the one that she said she needed to spend time with) and then i went on the same website the other day and she was advertising a wanted add, for a staffy......so she's sold her 2 dogs to get a staff :-( How sad is that
- By Joshanna [gb] Date 16.11.05 19:49 UTC
Its not sad its awful - breaks my heart. I was looking at the add where they were selling the GS - they had loads of dogs for sale but also placed a wanted add!Its terrible - no wonder why i like rescuing dogs is there?Dread to think how theyre kept.If you want to sell your dog fair enough but you dont put theyre good for breedins, advertise them cheap then say youll barter on the price!!!!Then place an add for another!

I think it's digusting also but what really really irratates the life out of me is older dogs being advertised, it's well known that dogs who are older find it harder to be rehomed.  But it's the fact that this dog has lived in a house hold until it's seven or eight and then they rehome it, the poor dogs heart must be broken, i know mine would be it really does make me angry.

Warm regards Susan
- By Joshanna [gb] Date 16.11.05 20:13 UTC
Yea i know i saw someone offering a 12 year old JT the other day - thats bad as you said the dogs heart must beak as they become attached. Its terrible how people can do that ill never know. Especially with it being 12 - not being awful its not got much life left so many people will overlook it.
- By susantwenty? [gb] Date 16.11.05 21:57 UTC
Yes me to thats what i think, why not keep the dog, until he passes on, it really is ridiculous.  I know peoples circumstances change, but you dont get rid of your kids do you, well thats what i look at it like and i know for a fact if mine ever did my dogs would stay with me for the rest of their lifes.  You know the responsibilities of owning a dog and you can't just pass it on when you feel like it.

Warm regards Susan
- By Joshanna [gb] Date 16.11.05 22:06 UTC
Couldnt have said it better your completely right - i was going to say about keeping it till it passes bt thought i better not!
Its not on, poor buggers sad thing is if noone takes them they will go to a rescue centre ad be lonely.
When you take on a dog your looking at 15 years and i think of my dgs as my babys
- By susantwenty? [gb] Date 16.11.05 23:10 UTC
Me to but in some places they get put down within seven days which is really upsetting.  I wont attack you dont worry, he he he he your allowed an opinion that's what there for.

warm regards Susan

Sometimes though the older dog becomes homeless because the owner dies or has to move into residental care where pets are not allowed.  None of their family want him or her. This, I find incredibly sad. A much loved pet bewildered by the disappearance of their owner, in a temporary home with someone who doesnt give a toss and then passed on somewhere else.

Its a true fact of life in rescue circles - puppies will always find homes + younger dogs, but its the older middle aged dog and OAPs that are overlooked time and time again.

- By Joshanna [gb] Date 17.11.05 08:11 UTC
Yeap i agree with what you said there always getting overlooked - im sure they just want to be loved.I supose part of the problem is asweel you have to pay for all the things the dogs had done and many people will think whats the point when theyll not have long left?
- By Lily Mc [gb] Date 17.11.05 07:28 UTC

I reported the person selling the GS as i looked and they had loads of dogs for sale - but also had a wanted sign for another dog! I wouldnt give them my time of day let alone my dog!
On the subject of the person having a swop sign i saw someone the other day seeling there dog,it was for sale or they wanted to swap for a pom for their daughter, dont believe that for a second! If these people had to pay they wouldnt be willy nilly advertising!
- By justlou Date 17.11.05 11:03 UTC
I also saw one last night, 5 year old boxer for sale......she's already had 2 litters but she's not been spayed so she can have more :-(  It really makes me so angry.
- By Joshanna [gb] Date 17.11.05 11:09 UTC
When i had to sell one of our dogs - a year ago now - she also wasnt spayed. But i sold her without her papers and also put in the add no breeders need apply as she is spayed. This was to deter people.I thoroughly vetted the people who not have her, and i didnt tell them she ws unneutred until they came and met her the 2nd time - i advertised her for money - when i accpeted nothing for her - to me is was about getting the right home. I dont believe in making a profit so the people who got her got a dog for free - it was on the condition that she was spayed though - they still keep in touch - thats when you know youve found the right home :-)
- By justlou Date 17.11.05 11:36 UTC
These people are selling this boxer with her papers :-( I was looking for a rottie once, and i rang the r.s.p.c.a. to ask if they knew of any rottie's in rescue centres in my area.....they gave me a telephone number of a lady who was having to re-home one because she worked to many hours, so i contacted the lady and met up with her....i told her a bit about myself and my family, then i arranged to meet her again with the dog.....he was a kc reg pedigree 4 year old rottie, she didn't want any money for him just a good home because her attitude was, you can't put a price on life......she didn't want to rush in re-homing her dog and i didn't want to rush in taking him.

Poor old Jack lived with me until the ripe old age of 10 when he died :-(
- By Joshanna [gb] Date 17.11.05 11:38 UTC
She was the same as me - i didnt rush into it
- By Joshanna [gb] Date 17.11.05 12:26 UTC
Theres a pup on ebay item no 4419369459 and the seller is chixie34 would everybody please complain and it will ge removed quicker!!Its not allowed and is terrible!
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 17.11.05 13:18 UTC
Joshanna, by posting this you've just advertised it even wider! :( And the more complaints they have, the longer it takes to remove offending items - it only needs one complaint and they'll do it. Flooding them with complaints merely slows up the system. When you see things like this just report it yourself - don't go giving the offenders free advertising! :(
- By nicki-jo [gb] Date 17.11.05 16:34 UTC
Brihow collies..
i have too seen this ad and im sorry to say this person has had a total of 15 dogs to sell buy and swap in the past 6 months . complaints have been made but still she advertises and even has the gall to use the same name. i have even contacted her myself on many occasions to query her morals and treatment of these poor dogs.
no replies obviously...
- By Goldmali Date 17.11.05 16:37 UTC
Could those of you who have seen this please PM me with details as it MAY be the same person I myself had problems with. When I had my accidental x litter I was totally conned by one woman who made out she had just lost an elderly dog, cutting  a long story short she got my pup and sold it on and it turned out she does it all the time -get pups and sell them on for a profit. I tracked her for a long time but she got wise to me and changed her name, e-mail, usernames etc etc.
- By nicki-jo [gb] Date 17.11.05 16:39 UTC
Goldmali, im sorry i dont know how to PM! can you tell me how?
- By nicki-jo [gb] Date 17.11.05 16:48 UTC
i forgot to add that she always starts at a cheap price but puts a new ad on every day at a lower price every day for the same poor dog.
this woman really gets my goat!!!! I hate people like this!!
- By Joshanna [gb] Date 17.11.05 17:32 UTC
Yes i know they get cheaper and cheaper i too have been watching her as has my mum - i would pm you goldmali but im sure nicki jo has alreasdy given you the details
- By Goldmali Date 17.11.05 16:52 UTC
Just click on my name and it will bring up a page where yau can click on "Message". Thanks!!

Hi Goldmali, i have pm'd you.
hope it helps.
- By Lily Mc [gb] Date 17.11.05 17:05 UTC
Can't tell you how cross it made me when I saw it last night, although am not naive about the amount that this sort of thing happens.  I have emailed the breeder, although I don't know her personally, but hopefully she'll welcome the information - I know I would if it was one of my pups. :(

>I know peoples circumstances change, but you dont get rid of your kids do you, well thats what i look at it like and i know for a fact if mine ever did my dogs would stay with me for the rest of their lifes.

Having found the site in question, I must say I was appalled by the number of "circumstances" that now prevented people keeping their dogs. And yes, I know that people's circumstances DO change but in so many cases - and I'm being gullible enough to count some of them as genuine - I'm amazed that the circumstances couldn't have been predicted BEFORE the dog was originally bought.
- By Joshanna [gb] Date 17.11.05 17:34 UTC
I agree, its not fair on te poor dog who hasto be rehomed.I know if my mum had to be taken into a home id take her dog - she'd want me too to make sure it was looked fter properly. And if you tell enough of yourfriends\family one of them is mre than likely to take it off your hands - instead of selling it to anyone for money

Oh dear whats going on here?

Warm regards Susan
- By rachelsetters Date 18.11.05 22:11 UTC
Shame you haven't responded to these other posts - don't you think?
- By susantwenty? [gb] Date 18.11.05 22:18 UTC
Are you replying to me?
- By rachelsetters Date 18.11.05 22:27 UTC
no - Joshana - I think - maybe it fell in the wrong place - just odd that she hasn't responded to the other comments!
- By chocymolly [gb] Date 18.11.05 22:43 UTC
Maybe she's changing her user name!!!!!!
- By Joshanna [gb] Date 19.11.05 08:44 UTC
I wasnt going to feed the thread, but here i go. As i said to 1 of the PM's i got - i do not know who this Debby person is - it has nothing to do with me - as i said to that particular person - please email them and youll see it has nothing to do with me - there is more than 1 person that lives in lincolnshire you know!
And as for the comments - i have some words of wisdom for all of you that took the time to try an stalk me - which didnt work as your wrong (now you look silly dont you!) Theres more to life that the computer so get out and start leading one! And also, all you people that have been on here a while, you are aload of bullys - you bully all the new CD members ive watched you do it many a time.I dont come on here much anymore as other members have recommended me much better sites where there is actually people who arent trying to pick a fight all the time!Ive held my tongue for far too long, you know who you are.
1 little thing and your off - people dont come on here for a tongue lashing - they come for advice - your turning people away you should be ashamed of yourself. Everyones entitled to there opinons but you take it to the extreme.
None of you are experts but you all like to think you are.You moan about puppy farmers and designer dog makers etc, but i think part of the reason you do it is because you yourselves are breeders and your angry there making more money than you.
Its also nearly Christmas and ive got no intntion of letting you ruin mine - so for once crack and smile and just think "whatever" - theres no point in replying anyway as i willnot be looking at this post anyway :-) and dont bother pm'in me cos ill just delete them :-) it'll be a waste of your stalker time, itll fall on deaf ears - so divert it to someone else :-) Cos your good at that!
- By jackyjat [gb] Date 19.11.05 08:47 UTC
I hope you find all you are looking for on the other much better sites.
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 19.11.05 08:59 UTC
Ooh, sites where saying one thing and doing the opposite is acceptable. They sound marvellous! ;)
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 19.11.05 08:50 UTC
So is it you who's selling a dog when at the same time you're saying what a terrible thing that is to do? Or is it a genuine coincidence about the username?

What happened to your belief that:

>if you tell enough of yourfriends\family one of them is mre than likely to take it off your hands - instead of selling it to anyone for money

:(
- By Moonmaiden Date 19.11.05 09:16 UTC

>None of you are experts but you all like to think you are.You moan about puppy farmers and designer dog makers etc, but i think part of the reason you do it is because you yourselves are breeders and your angry there making more money than you.<

I might or might not be an expert but I'm certainly not a breeder & I've never made any moey from my dogs & never wanted to do. If you consider me to be a breeder I'll be headline news as I only have entire male dogs & a spayed rescued GSD bitch

I've probably turned round more rescue dogs from puppy farmers & designer dogs that all have awful behavioural problems the last 40 some years than you've had hot dinners in

When I did breed I bred for the improvement of the breeds & when one of mine ended up in rescue I never bred again & any dogs I bred if they were still alive would be 20 years old now.All my dogs were health tested more than was usual for the time in which they were bred from

I never bought a dog from a puppy farmer & the only cross breed I have owned was a rescue

In the words of William Shakespeare

>"Methinks, the lady doth protest too much"<
