Anyone got an online subscription to one of the show papers?
I'm considering it as prices of the paper are so high now, is it worth it?  Would I be able to read critiques I've missed ?

Which show papers do you mean - Dog World/Our Dogs?

I get DW through the post, liketo  actually sit and read it, but have an online subscription to ODs so I can read any crits that might only end up in one paper. I share the cost with a friend, it works out fairly cheap that way and they store alll the crits so you can look back through the archive if you think you have missed one.
HTH :)

YAY, now that makes it worth it :) only reason to buy any of them is the crits, breednews and Killick :D :D :D :D

I have it for OD and I just spent a few days going through show reports and saving them to my computer, which now means I have the past few years saved all in one place and not in little bits of cut out newspaper all over the house. :) That was well worth it. I also save breed notes this way rather than cutting them out. (I save them because I do them for my breed.)

BTW I can't see that DW offer the same thing?

As OD has gone up to £2 and I still get both, but used to share tiwh a freind, I think I would like the online subscription again.  How much is it now?

I was just wondering that Brainless :)

Website sub is £29.95 for six months or £54.95 for 12 months so quite a bit cheaper than buying the actual paper :D

especially if you share with someone else I suppose - anyone up for that ? ;)

How do you save them? Last time I tried, the copyright block stopped you from saving to the computer?
- By Goldmali Date 15.11.05 21:38 UTC
I've just done a simple copy and paste to Notepad from show reports in OD's member section.

If I try to  select the text, nothing happens and if I right click, I get a pop up window "Our Dogs publishing". I am a subscribing member to the online section.

I don't get that. Ive just tried twice, with 2 different web browsers, without even logging in and I can save text or photos no problem. I just highlight with the mouse, right click and chose copy for text which I then paste into Notepad or Word, or chose Save as for photos.

I had the same problems when I was online meber couldn't save the show reports.

I joined for the 7 day trial but prefer the papers so cancelled it.

I've emailed them to see what they say.  Probably will tell me its to do with the copyright but will wait for the reply

Well I really don't understand it -surely it must be people's individual computer settings somehow rather than the website? Like I said I can save text or photos in 2 different browsers TODAY, and have done for weeks now. Oh and this is the THIRD computer I've done it on too. I save my own breednotes every week and every time a show report for one of my dogs appears I save it, so it is usually every week I do it.
