The *Irish staffordshire bull terrier* is not recognised by the UK Kennel Club and can be blue
but
you can get a blue *Staffordshire Bull terrier* which IS recognised by the KC
depends on whtehter you want a registered dog and one with a proven pedigree as to which breed you opt for

well to begin with i didnt really know anythink about it ,i had 2 kc staffs at the time, but really wanted a blue i just asumed the blue ones was irish cos thats wot people were saying to me at the time,, we looked 4 about 6 months and never came across a blue with a kc, there for i believed that blues werent reg,(if u can get what i mean) i know now that blues r kc reg as i know alot more now then i did then, there a lot more kc blues around now but years ago they were very hard to get hold of,that proberly why i bought her as soon as i seen her. i wouldnt change her 4 the world cos she is great

and just wanted to add that there are many breeders charging an arm and a leg for a blue claiming they are RARE
they arent! they should not cost any more than any other colour- if you pay £800 - £1000 as some people charge then you are being ripped off

Plus a lot of these blues usually end up a dismal grey colour when adult :)

Well!
I have a blue KC reg staffie that is not a washed out 'grey' colour. She has qualified for crufts & is good in conformation.
If she has blue pups, or if her daughter has blue pups, I would sell them for the same price as any other colour.
All people who breed blue staffs are not just in it for the money - I personally would like to see more blues at shows.
There are plenty poor quality blues though :-(
