Did I hear right last night? Does Paul O'Grady think that Olga could be in whelp? If so am trying to work out how old she is.....doesnt seem that long ago he rescued her as a very tiny puppy. Anyone got any answers?

No idea but if she is in whelp surely it not a responsible thing to do breed from a rescue?
Molly, i also heard him say it.....apparently Buster is the father, but i'm not sure how old Olga is.

He said she
might be pregnant, hope she isn't. I think she's about 8 months

I was amazed when he said Buster was the father, as Paul is such a vehment supporter of dog rescues and does what he can to help rehoming, I was very dissapointed :( (Still love the show though :))
I thought he said on Monday was that her season had passed and she was okay to mix with other dogs. Must have mis heard :-( Looking at the internet i see she was first on TV early May at 6 weeks, so yes she's barely 8 months bless. Will he hear the almighty wrath of the CD's tonight!!!

She is a bit older than my puppy who is 6 months old, I was shocked when I heard him say it. I was saddened to hear it, she is still only a baby herself.

Here's his chance to do the right thing AND to show the general public what to do in such a situaion as well: get her spayed ASAP!
Paul's just said that he THINKS Olga's expecting.

Maybe wrong here but had a good look at Buster on tv tonight.......he doesnt look to have all his bits!!!!!.

She was certainly very relaxed infront of the camera last night, and very interested in the small bits and bobs in Pauls postbag - could be a phantom? Let's hope so......
BTW - he's got Fern Britton on tomorrow, so let's hope she puts him straight on responsible breeding ;)
Surely if he "thought" they had mated he would've been down the vets asap getting an antimate injection? Poor olga seems too young to have a litter herself.

I have e-mailed Paul to ask for clarification.

Yeah shes about the same age as my pup, 8-9 months. It is very possible as she would have had her 1st season by now.

Yeah, I got the auto reply and nothing else since. I got Dermot O'Leary's auto reply too and so far nothing whatsoever from GMTV.

Well frankly I am appalled! This is a puppy for heaven's sake!
Has no-one told him how irresponsible his actions are???
Well, I'm certainly going to!
Margot
Im really shocked. Thats awful - such a bad example to people watching his programme. The dog is only a puppy herself.

Anybody remember which rescue society he got her from. I vaguely remember she was one of several that he was showcasing from their kennels. Perhaps an appeal to them to take some action as regards publicising the foolhardyness of his actions might be beneficial. If not the dreaded Sun may be interested if enough people stir them up.

I've now sent 2 emails to him as i was offered tickets to his show??????? obviously the standard "out of office" reply.I bet we don't hear back from him!
Paul seems to think it's quite funny :-( Olga is only about 8-9 months old i think, and Busters seems quite old.....i've also e-mailed him with my concerns but i doubt it will make any difference
For what good it will do i have emailed him also.
This is disgusting, i could never in my wildest dreams breed my rescue bitch !! and espically not at such a young age !!

I have e-mailed Paul again, and I've given him a right old ear bashing. I'm furious, it's just disgraceful.

Just caught up on the thread! I will e-mail him tomorrow! Maybe we should take tickets to see his show and then make a huge protest in the crowed!!!

Me too - wonder if they'll be bemused about the inbox full of angry views, when he's pleased as punch about the cute ickle puppies?

Thats a good idea ice queen! All of us get tickets to the same show!

Has anyine suggested that the pregnancy can be terminated by spaying.
By Lokis mum

Yes - I did in fact here's a copy of what I wrote:-
<<I don't normally send messages to people that I don't know, but I have heard that your puppy Olga is pregnant. I do hope that this is in fact incorrect. The risks to Olga's health are significant, and as a breeder and owner for many, many years, I would strongly urge you to have the pregnancy terminated and Olga spayed at the same time. This is by far the safest way to treat such an accident.
I know it is horrible to contemplate taking such action, but you are otherwise allowing the equivalent of a teenage girl have a baby. She really is not mature enough to have an unplanned pregnancy. I do realise that you have had a lot going wrong in your life this year, but you do have some control over what happens here.>>
Margot
I also have emailed him. From what I heard on the programme he sent her to his daughters or a friend for a couple of weeks and then had her back for a weekend and the two of them got together. She is only a babe and it was her first season. Can't bellieve the rescue didn't advise him on this. Buster has not been 'done'. When Paul had that trainer on a couple of weeks ago he did tell him to be careful. But obviously Paul didn't listen. Shame, he has gone down in my estimation.

And me
Did anyone get a reply from Paul O'Grady? I doubt it but just wondered. I am still shocked that he let his poor dog get pregnant so young :(
No :-( I'm still waiting, is all i've had is an out of office reply like everyone else
just a thought maybe a complaint to ITV themselves or whoever it is you complain to about the content of TV programmes
Dont most rescue places spey / neuter the dogs before they rehome? or is that just the big ones?
