My daughter (aged 10) has recently joined YKC and is getting quite excited about it.

Could she practice ringcraft at a proper class with my cross breed?  Would they laugh us out of the place??  LOL

She's really really keen and I wouldn't want it to put her off.

If you make it clear your daughter is doing Junior Handling I don't see why they should laugh you out. Don't know how seriously judges would take you - at show the dog generally has to be entered in a breed class so I assume a crossbreed wouldn't be able to go except at a companion dog show. You could perhaps go to ringcraft and try to cultivate friends with pedigrees which your daughter could handle at the shows? :-)

Lucy she can also do YKC crossbreed handling at YKC events which does get her to the finals at crufts so juniors handling crossbreeds has got something for them to aim for :)

Ah, I didn't know that, never having been a junior handler myself. Always good to learn! :-)

There is a child comes to our ringcraft with a crossbreed :) They are fabulous!!!

We accept crossbreed at our ringcraft! :)  Infact have a junior handler who has her own crossbreed she brings now and again and also shows our dogs (and other people have been kind enough to encourage her)

Afew years ago we had a lurcher come (with a deerhound) and we give out special awards for best imroved handler, dog, adult etc etc etc and made a special best crossbreed just for her :)  Also at our xmas match gave her, her own crossbreed class!  Always said as long as they paid the pound we were happy! :)

Take your daughter along to a ringcraft, it will be good experience for both her and your dog. Doggie people are a friendly bunch, my daughter goes along with me and gets plenty of offers to handle other people's dogs.

My daughter shows our munster but she also takes our cross jack russle and no one has said anything as she does juniors.
