I have had an official warning about the amount of time I have spent during work hours using the internet for personal stuff and chamdogs was named as the site I most commonly visit

:D
LOL I get a warning from my 'boss' everyday he says - and I quote - "If I come home from work tonight and you are on that site again, I am going to hide the charger for the laptop tomorrow!!"
...Just shows how much notice I take of my hubbie!! ;) :P
Yeh, but if he hides the charger, he won't get any work done either :-)
He doesn't really use the laptop, so it wouldn't bother him one bit if the battery ran down. I think the only reason he doesn't do it is because he knows we have a desk top upstairs, and because our broadband is wireless, I would only have to take the adapter thing up stairs and plug it in to the computer up there!! :D
Besides, if he ever did do it, he knows he wouldn't dare come home that night!! ;) :P

i had warnings all the time, but nuthin offical!!!!!

Ooh, this one is official alright, if I so much as peep at a "non-work related site" in the next 3 months it will be a proper disciplinary :(

Well you better get off it then ;-) :-D

I got warned about looking at dog related sites when I was at work, but it was ok for the guy in the next room to view & download porn

I've been expecting a warning in work, but have got away with it so far. Every day I tell myself that I'll only have 5 or 10 minutes at breaks and lunch but the temptation is always there just to have a quick peek which, of course, turns into half an hour....I never have had much will power  Must try harder to stay off CD and concentrate on work.....
Maybe we should start up a CDers Anonymous support group :)
I'm the same in IT lessons at college! Always taking a quick look at a website - often champdogs. I've not been caught yet though!
Maybe this is one reason why I'm doing so badly in college now!

Bekki!!!!!! and everyone else!!!! Tut tut tut! I never look on champdogs or any other site in school...mainly because the teacher sits their with their laptop veiwing everyones screen!! ARGH!

Isn't it a human rights issue or something about how bosses monitor our every move?
How much time does your boss spend on on non-work related sites Clairey?

Unfortunately, "he who pays the piper, calls the tune." If you're being paid it's only reasonable for the boss to expect you to be working. Your lunchbreak is different, though - that's unpaid, so your own time.

Yes - but even then you don't have any rights to use the PC for personal use. We are allowed to use the computer at work at lunchtimes , but someone looked at a site recently and downloaded something nasty, so they are thinking of banning any personal use :( (Although doesn't affect me as I come home for lunch :) )

I work in a hospital and slog my guts out from the moment I arrive until I get out. Thats what I get paid for, so thats what I do. I rarely get a break, and usually end up working late.
Are there really jobs where there is so little to do that people have time to bum around on the net doing personal stuff and still expect to get paid for it? Wish I had a job like that.
I obviously live in a very different world.:(
