i am looking to buy a west highland terrier. I am married with two children (11 & 13) and i am unsure if i should buy a dog or a bitch. could someone give me some advised.

Hi Michelle,

I have Westies. I have a boy and a girl. I have to say that I don't find much difference in either. They both have traits
Some people may disagree.

My boy is very laid back where my girl is more hyper but I have know this to be the other way around.

Regardless which you choose I would advise unless showing to get either spayed it stops unwanted pups and straying which Westies are prone to doing on occasion. They like to dig and to try and escape sometimes.

They are lovely , loyal dogs. Not lap dogs as some think.

Whatever you decide it is more important that you get a dog form a good breeder as health is far more important than it's sex.

hi michelle, id just like to say i agree with all pamela says, dogs are more laid back and bitches do tend to be hypo, but dog or bitch they are great little dogs to have, i also have a westie, i wouldnt be without her, great choice of dog they are so funny, sheryl
