what are the chances of my 2yr old bitch being pregnant i took her to be mated but they didnt tie although he was on her for quite a while but he tied when he got of her if she where to be pregnant she would be 18 days .already she has gone off her food had morning sickness twice her vulva has not gone back to her normal size, her teats have lumps under them and are pink in colour , her tummy has not got that tucked up look anymore, and she is being lazy has anyone got any thoughts on the subject  please

She could very well be pregnant. Many litters are born from slip matings. However, she could also be having a phantom. I'm afraid you'll just have to wait and see. You could have her scanned or just wait as you'll be able to tell better in a month or so.

According to the book of the bitch and a few website Ive looked at a phantom pregnancy usually occurs around 1 to 2 months after a season has finished. It usually starts at around the time a bitch would have had pups if she had of been pregnant so I think if this is true it probably is a real pregnancy.

In my experience if they look pregnant quick its a phantom.  I have had bitches phantom and they start 2 weeks after a season. I had one bitch once that I wondered if she had been got at, because she produced milk, her stomach even grew, but by 7 weeks it all vanished.    But that depends on the breed. I hope for you she is pregnant. I have never had a litter from a slip tie, but so many people do. It depends if he had chance to pass sperm or not.

You can either have her scanned, or just wait and see. The waiting is usually awful, as each day we wake up and think is she.

My bitches never get morning sickness until 4 weeks.  But that does not mean your bitch does not have morning sickness as they are all different.

hi my bitch if pregnant which i now think she is  at 23 days is not quite as lazy as she was is looking i would say thick set behind her ribs but doesnt have what id call a pregnant tummy i just know she looks chunkier than normal shes even getting a fat bottom and she does feel heavier when ipick her up   would she feel heavier if she was to be having a phantom   by the way she is a jack russel short coated so you can tell very easily

Its not much advice as myself looked up on this subject as i too mated my girl twice but the stud & her never tied but the stud was on her for quite a while ! After reading up on it i really thought she wouldnt be pregnant but she gave birth to a healthy litter 5 days ago !!! Just keep a eye on her and after 4 weeks take her to the vets ! Good luck

the vulva will not go down that is the best indication and then when she is far along enough you should book the vet examination however i had a bitch i tried to breed thought she was pregnant had her examined was told she was pregnant turns out she wasnt if her vulva hasnt gone back to normal and her teats are beginning to pinken you could say she is either pregnant or having a phantom pregnancy
