The last of my puppies went at 3.45pm today and I am sat here in what I think I remember being called SILENCE
I have carted the kids off to grandmas as I they were very upset and I knew this would take their mind off things, mum is asleep on the sofa (I dont know how she's taking it but she seems to be handling it better than me.) We have been to the park and she was her usual happy go lucky self :)
Everytime I look in the puppy pen my eyes well up and I have looked at photo's stored on my computer of them from the minute they were born right up until they were going and I feel bereaved :(
I know that they have all gone to loving, caring homes and the new owners have promised to keep me updated but I feel like a lost soul:(
I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped me out through champdogs during the past 4 months,I dont know what I would have done without this forum and you lot :D

make the most of the peace and put the pen away immidiately! when you get emails and photos as the pups grow up it will feel all worth while. for now have a well earned rest take comfort in a job well done and think of the pleasure you have given the new owners who can now give each pup the 1 2 1 it deserves!

Thank you dedlin, my oh has dismantled the pen and put it in the shed.I am relieved at having mum all to myself again and am going to spoil her rotten for doing so well! :D
I have had a few emails already telling me how pups are settling in as some went friday, some saturday and the last today.
I think I am looking forward to coming down in the morning and not having a pen to clean out!
I will miss them all terribly though but am relieved in a strange sort of way>

i know exactly how you feel i always have a hard time and its even worse when mumma dog is searching for her puppies and cant find them i find that heart breaking but i only ever bread any of the bitches ive bred twice and out of the last litter i keep one female to later breed when she is at a good age i find cleaning all signs of puppie up immediatly after the last goes makes it a little easier

Take a well deserved break,i am going to be in the same position as you two weeks today, and not looking forward to it.You dedicate your lives for eight/ten weeks to these little guys and when they've gone you feel like you've lost your right arm,but it is so so rewarding when you receive pics and emails of them in their new loving homes giving their owners so much pleasure.I receive birthday cards and christmas cards of the majority of my puppies new owners and loads of emails,I even look after f.o.c some of my puppies as they get older when their owners are going away, and i love it,i love seeing them again.

We have Kept one but she will not live with us.She is stunning and I have decided that she will be the one I start my showing career with.I really do think she has potential. She is living with my brother as he wanted a puppy but couldn't afford one so this was ideal, she will live with him but is registered to me and I will pay her insurance but he will pay for her food.He understands completely that she will always be my dog but is just happy to have her with him. This may sound like a strange arrangement but we both agreed that this would suit us fine.
PS :He lives in the same street as us so she will never be far away.

Sounds ok what with her living so near you - that way she can bond with you as well so that you will be able to handle her in the ring - unless your brother wants to! :-)

I can only imagine how you feel, Daisy is 52 days today and already i am dreading the day when we'll have to say bye bye to the pups, she has been scanned for 4 or 5, we are keeping one and already have lovely homes lined up for 3 but that wont make it any easier im sure.

Enjoy your time with your girl now and good luck with the showing.

AWWWWWWWWWWWwwwwwwwww Waffy, look at it this way, without people like you - people like me couldn't be very proud, very happy owners of new little fur babys.  I will be eternally grateful to the breeder who sold my my puppy.  We keep in touch and I regularly call her to ask advice - there is no substitute for experience.  You made several families very happy indeed! ;)
