hi,
can a bitch have seasons every 4, 6, 8 months to the month or can they go say 6 months then the next two are 7 months apart?
and if a bitch started her season on the 4th of a month would her next season be on or around that time, or could it start at the end of her expected month?
reason being is that my girl had her last seasons 7 months apart which would give her an expected start date a week ago but still nothing has happened.
also are there any signs to look out for before she starts bleeding?

One of my girls go exactly every 6 months to the DATE, whereas my other two are 10 months give or take a week.  I have found that if they are due around the winter months it can be delayed a little more.

As for signs, my 6 monthly girl always has PMT.....lol. for around 4 weeks before.

That is interesting as I have found that too the Autumn/Winter season is later than the Spring/Summer one.

It can definitely vary. One of mine went 6 months in between, then she changed to 5 months for a few times, so then when I was going to mate her I expected the season after 5 months -instead she went 7! :)

One of my bitches varied with every season. Ranging from 31 to 17 weeks. Never the same twice. Her sister was every 10 months to the day. Their mother was every 6 months to the day. All bitches are different, and you won't know until she has her seasons which she will be ;)

M6 youngest is just at day 16 of her fifth season.  Her first at 8 months was followed 16 weeks later by her second, then 20 weeks later by her third, then 18 weeks until her fourth, and then 27 1/2 weeks until her fifth.

She is now 26 months old.

Most of my adult bitches settle into having seasons every 25 to 32 weeks.

One of my bitches had her seasons every 4 months and with very little bleeding/swelling , her seasons lasted only for about 10 days - but she was ready to stand from day one - after her last litter she came back into season when the pups wrere 12 weeks  - we have had her spayed partly because it was so difficult to manage and also because I felt she may  develop a problem later ( Pyometra ?) as her hormones were obviously all over the place  having said that , she has always beeen completely healthy and produced two litters of lovely healthy pups with no problems.
