Does anybody know of a good insurance company for a 600 DLX van. Just phoned CIS who I have my old VW with and they've quoted £900. It's smaller than my car!!!!!!
Hi
I have a van to but on a private policy, I am through provident at the moment, but will be changing at the end of this month to privilidge as they gave me an excellent quote, but you have to have 4 years no claims bonis, if you do i recomend you give them a ring, they gave my partner a good deal on his mitsi L200 too.
Gook luck, there is nothing more boring than ringing round insurance companies, especially just to be told "we dont insure vans" really annoying.

I've just managed to get one half the price at £418. But I'll try the company that you've mentioned too!
Thanks.

Hi Diane
Have you tried www.confused.com, put all your details in and they do the search for you, just a thought.
Jenny
Have you tried the 'girlie' companies like 'Diamond' and the aussie named one................ too many wine gums me thinks ;)

diamond dont insure vans, girls arent meant to drive them
'sheilas wheels' is the name :D :D

i got a 4 life L200 TO i am with tesco £380.00 THAT WAS IN SEPT
Try Direct Line, I've found them one of the cheapest...
Or if people are classing your vehicle as commercial perhaps try one of those
that insure vans. Can't think who my Dad's pick-up is insured with though.

We used to have a van and had terrible trouble finding a company that would accept that it was for private use and not commercial. In the end we found NFU and have stuck with them over the years as they have always been able to match or do better than any other quote we've got.

This is why the MPV versions of the vans are good as they dopn't class them as commerical. In Holland my puppy owners told me loads of Vans are in the people carrying versions for exactly those reasons.

Think that is what is great about eh MPV is they can be both.. the dog transporters and the family car when required. :-)

We now have a van-type MPV ;) It's really versatile as we can carry passengers and still have room for the dogs :)

I have a Doblo MPV and my fully comprehensive insurance for the year is £160 with More Than that's with 5+ years no claims, it was the cheapest by far. Have you tried elephant.co.uk?

my van is with direct line, its not cheap but not too bad. i was always told the co-op was the cheapest for vans,im amazed you had such a high quote off of them. did you tell them it was private?

We have very recently had this problem when swapping from an Astra Esatate to an ex Police Dog Handlers van. There were many compnaies didnt want our business and some wouldnt take us, saying that the van had been modified! We eventually went with Tesco.....the cheapest and they laughed when I told them other companies had told us the van had been modified due to the back being done out for dogs.
Diane

Tesco's were the second cheapest. My problem seems that because I'm a safe driver with more than 7 years no claims which is protected, nobody wants me :d

I have found Tescos cheaper than CIS, but only by about £50 a year.
My partner was going to insure me on his car with More Than. It bumped his premiums up by about £30 a month. Becasue I was a young driver.
I am 28 and have full no claims discount and no accidents in the alloted time!!!!!!!!!
He went with prudential in the end!!!!!
Lea :)
i don't have a van (should do tho!), but i've been insured with tesco for the past few years. The Post Office is quite cheap, and The AA were reasonable too. If you have AA breakdown, you can get a discount. They were actually a bit cheaper than Tesco, but i can't be bothered changing! A creature of habit, me :)
