It is vital that only the very best dogs as regarding temperament health and show qualities should be used. this is a fairly new breed to this country, which has had an unfortunate upsurge in popularity, therfore studying the available lines is a must, as a lot of the dogs will be more or less related. Leave breeding to the experts, no reputable breeder will use a dog withour a proven track record in the showring, and health screening tests. That will leave you with irresponsible bitch owners who will sell to anybldy, this is not a dog for just any body, and it could all end in tears, with the reputation of the breed being ruined. There have already been widely published accounts of attacks on people and dogs by irresponsibly owned Akitas!
