Well I finally took the decision to buy a Miele rather than another Dyson - really chuffed.  never thought I would be pleased or excited about buying a hoover.  My girlfriend loves it too - I am so impressed with teh damn thing she hasn't had to hoover the house in teh last month because I keep using the hoover.  I am sure the novelty will wear off sooon.... :S

It's lovely and quiet, and does a great job of sucking up the Golden Retriever's hair... Bit harder work than an upright but works a treat.

It cam out top in Which? and I have had mine for years with no probs, it is much lighter than a Dyson and quieter too.

Mine like all my others only lasted a year or so...... What really put me off Miele was when they told me they would not honour the guarantee as I had more than 2 pets so would be commercial.....

I have had the Miele Cat & Dog for years.  The Turbo brush gave up on me (clogged dog hair blew its brains), but other then that it has been great.

I've never heard of it, I thought it was some breed of cat :d

I have a dyson and I agree it's a heavy old beast but I hoover every day (or should that be vacuum) and the stuff it sucks out of the carpet is just appalling.  How can one cat, one dog and two humans create that muck??  It's kind of on its last legs so its nice to know the Miele has good reports.  However I have a bad back and I'm not sure that cylinders are the best choice for that?
