I have a litter of puppies that I have advertised on the internet but have had quite a bit of response from people in america wanting me to ship a puppy to them but I have refused as I do not think it is fair on the puppy to go that far at such a young age and do not want the pups to be exported is this a usual thing to happen as its never happened in the past and one person who has responded does not seem to take no for a answer I have told them twice now that I will not export a puppy!

Hi  a word of caution sometimes these persistent people are the ones pulling the scams ie they pay you then you refund the x amount of pounds they have paid over and above what you are asking..im not saying that this may be the case but be wary

Can't you just tell them that all the pups are now sold.

Hi,

As suggested a lot of these people are con artists not even interested in your pups whatsoever!  I would add the line.  'I do not export!  or accept bankers draughts!' to your advertisement.

If you ever intend to ship puppies make sure that you know exactly where they're going. It isn't that uncommon for people to ship puppies from another part of the world as breeders do it all the time. It's all about bringing new blood in the country which is essential for any breed. But as I said, this only works if you 100% know where the puppy is going. Besides, most breeders that do decide to import from a long distance will want to see if the puppy will be a show quality, so it's usually a bit older than 8 weeks.

^ Also, people who import dogs are usually well established in the breed and have at least one or two dogs already unless it's a rare breed. Do your homework and if in doubt, don't do it.

Hi,
If I was exporting a puppy, It would be to another breeder who is known.
In my breed, and most likley have a web site.
Most breeders if they won't a puppy, will put themselves out, some have
others breeders who are coming over to this country, take the puppy back
for them, on a pet passport. If a breeder does wont one off your pups
and it is from a good blood line it is a complement. It will most likley
be used for showing ,It will also carry your name with it.
Check if the person asking, is known by your breeders club ect:

Regards
Denese
