i'm staying in...hubby is cooking tea  , seeing as we've been together 7 yrs today (married four yrs at the end of november). We felt awful going out and leaving the dogs as the odlest is a nervous wreck with fireworks, so we didn't want to leave her. The pup couldn't give a monkeys. We've just come back from a jaunt round the village, and there was bangs here and there-he was far more interested in the eau d'urine :D

Dad and Bro might go out but I will stay at home with mum, dogs on sofa watching strictly come dancing!!! :D

Highly likely we'll be staying in. The fireworks have started and I've got a very unhappy girl sat on my knee shaking away!!
- By Lola_Riley [gb] Date 05.11.05 17:22 UTC
I am going round to my sister-in-laws for a meal and then guests are joining us after the meal for a bonfire and fireworks display! The dogs will be coming with me to play with my sister in laws pooches.
Enjoy!

staying in with my 4 all dosed up on valerian and rescue remedy , and with the music on full blast.I really hate fireworks, Buddy has lost some fur with the stress of them in the past 2 weeks , he really is terrified of them:(
- By Carla Date 05.11.05 17:41 UTC
My dogs aren't bothered about fireworks - I worry more about the horses, but they don't seem bothered either! I'm not going out though - we're lighting a fire and having a v.nice dinner and a bottle of red when baby Archie has gone to bed. Can't wait - dogs flat out in front of a roaring fire, X-Factor on the box - bliss :D Why go out and stand ooo-ing and aaah-ing at a bunch of lights in the sky?! :D :D

We're staying in (although went out for a curry last night :D ). The town's big firework display is tonight and although it's two/three miles away, it will be very loud, so will have to turn the X-Factor up :D Fortunately Tara isn't as bad as past years and is OK as long as she has something to hide under :) Bramble couldn't care less :D

Staying in - we've all been out most of the day, so I have pooped pooches and peed-off pussycats :D

They are still hiding in the bottom of the dogs' beds.......I think the dogs are going to find that they've got lodgers for the winter :D

I always stay in to keep an eye on the dogs. Our elderly dog is terrified, bless him. I just wish it was all over in one night - no such luck!
- By munkeemojo Date 05.11.05 20:53 UTC
i can't believe how good my two have been!!! Teka freaked out big time for the first hour and a half, and since then its almost as if she's accepted the noise as being constant, so she's completely calmed. She's not huffed, puffed, panted, shook since half seven!!! Little man Bu has been brill too-the odd look up, but thats about it.

the cats are chilled-one's on my knee now, and the other one's curled up in her bed upstairs.

everyone elses babies surviving?

Tara's doing fine :) She's been under her special table here in the lounge. The television is up loud, although some of the bangs are pretty loud and very close. She came out at one point and had a cuddle, then went back under. She's not panting and shaking as in previous years, so I'm pretty happy :)

We are staying too, tyler me pooch isn't bothered by the fire works, however i am. Trying hard not to pass any fear on to him.
- By louise123 [gb] Date 05.11.05 21:36 UTC
Just getting a bit worried now as i am a bit scared about taking tyler out for his nightly poo. As i have just seen a guy setting fireworks of on his front drive, i feel it's a bit irresponsable as cars go by, people may be walking and also cats and dogs. Will see how brave i feel after a few glasses of wine. At the moment it sounds like a war zone where i live.

Our girls have been OK but we don't make an issue about it to them ;)

It sounds like Baghdad on a bad night here     Because of our geographical location, sound travels and echos - and it seems that all the world and his mate are buying Big Bangers - I know that down at Asda they have been selling individual fireworks costing up to £50 each - yes £50 each firework - why on earth don't they just burn the b****y notes!!!

Dogs aren't too bothered - Gypsy is the most nervous, but she's not too bad - Beau and Thor have been barking at the noisiest ones - and as I said earlier, cats have taken up squatters rights under the dogs' blankets in their beds!

Please explain :D

We're on the crest of a hill, with open land to the south, and west - we also have a large showground 2 miles to the west.   Add to this the fact that we have "sandhills" to the east (excavation pits of thanet sand ;) ) .  South & west of the "open land" are large housing developments - and I think every blessed one of those is having a private banger party ;) - we get all-around sound and vision - so we've got the biggy at the showground (northwest) , another biggy taking place down in Grays itself (Grays Athletic got through to the next round of the FA cup - giant killers in the making ) plus the private "little parties - their rockets aren't quite as spectacular :D

Think we need tin hats and ear protectors :D

Actually, reading this, I think that if we're still here next year, I'm going to sell tickets to watch ALL the fireworks :D :D :D - we can even view the Kentish ones as well :D

I think that that's the main thing - not to make a fuss :) We leave the doors open inside so that Tara can wander round the house if she wants to, from safe place to safe place :) However, tonight she has stayed in the lounge under her table, apart from one appearance. I just leave her to it. The main problem is getting her out into the garden to do a tiddle :) Fortunately, last night, we had friends round and when they went at about midnight, it was quiet. I put her lead on and took her into the garden - she must have been busting as she performed straight away and then shot back into the house. I did take the dogs out at about 4.30 this evening, but there were a few bangs in the distance and she didn't stop to tiddle :( As she has never tiddled in the house since she has been a pup, she should be OK tho' :)

Stayed in and away from my computer.  Anton and Carina joined me in watching the fireworks going off and Anton was in love with them, watching all the sparkly whooshy things going off.  Luckily Carina who is 7 weeks pregnant also thought they were fantastic.  Lydia my 12 year old confirmed what I'd been thinking for the last 3 months that she is totally deaf as this is the first year that they haven't bothered her :d  Poor Lastar just went around and around and around for nearly 5 solid hours.  I suppose they don't get to hear fireworks up in the mountains of Southern Spain.

The fireworks are still going strong outside and I've really had enough of them now!

But apart from fireworks etc - its been quite quiet tonight ;)

Did think I'd have an early night - but I'm waiting for the bangs to finish so I can take Tara out :) It was supposed to rain tonight, but no sign of it yet :( That would put a stop to the bangs :D
