Based on experience I seek a male dog with something like the following characteristics to be a companion for my wife.
Would you be able and willing to indicate a possible source? I should be most grateful.
I wish to find a dog as soon as possible.

as young as possible
not mutilated - complete tail, ears
not educated to violence - mother did not put jaws around neck
not trained to violence
not hit hard, not beaten (not hit any more than a badly behaved child would be)
not "trained" to tolerate violence, nor gunshots, nor very loud noises

Thank you for your consideration.

I must say I find your list of conditions strange to say the least!

Age, no reputable breeder would sell a dog under about 8 weeks old, older if as I imagine you have no experience in dogs.

"Mutilations" Ear cropping is illegal!

Not educated in Violence. Most if not all bitches use this as a natural way to control their puppies! They don't study the works of Spock!!!

Just what reputable breeder would "Train Violence"?

Need I go on?

Sorry, I don't think I'll consider you for one of my puppies"

I'm with you on this John.....it does seems a very strange list of conditions.

It would be interesting to know the thoughts that went into compiling this list of requirments

It could be that the poor enquirer is trying to avoid the nasty dogs, that he has probably heard the breed can be from the media. If you remember about 20 years ago Dobes were devil dogs, before that GSD, and since the poor Rottie. Also from the grammar it could be that this person is from abroad, from a country where Guard dogs and their training to attack work, are more common. Young as possible probably means a young baby pup rather than one of 11 months. Least I hope thats his meaning.

Hello Brainless

I agree with you and also got the impression that the poster was seeking a very young puppy.
That is why I wondered the reasoning behind some of the requirements, for eg: not trained to violence and not beaten. At between, shall we say 8 -12 weeks, this shouldn't be an issue.
Personally I would prefer a puppy to be used to noise !
As you say if the poster is from oversesas then the language translation may make it seem different to what the poster really means.

Hi Leigh,

Talk about going around in circles - I did not visit Champdogs much yesterday and in the meantime you referred this guest to Dobe Rescue who then referred him to me :-)

Well, I have Dobes and don't dock so some of the requirements are met! I thought every bitch put her mouth around pups as a matter of cleaning/discipline/play?

Well we got there in the end ! It would be a very strange bitch that didn't use her mouth on her puppy, wouldn't it. I Would be interested to know the outcome of this particular posting :-) maybe you could drop me an email ? Leigh
