Hello everyone,
Before I had Lacey I owned a yorkshire terrier who would wee everytime someone came into the house or made any kind of fuss of her. That was awful and she never got out of it. Now I have Lacey and it has been brilliant that you could talk to her and make a fuss of her or put her lead on and she wouldn't wee, but this last week or so she has started to when anyone comes in and fusses her. Why is she doing that now, because she is nearly 14 weeks old and up until now been dry. Nothing has changed in her routine or anything that I can think of to explain this. Is there anything I can do to get her out of this. I am really worried that she will make a habbit of it like the other dog.

Hi Debbie :)
Ruby is 16 weeks old and has been housetrained day and nigh for about 5 weeks.
However whenever someone comes into the house she gets so excited and dribbles everywhere. Luckily as we are decorating the hallway we have no carpet down, so not to bad!!!!! I will be reading the replies with interest as I hope Ruby isn't still doing it in 2 years time :(

Berry leaked with excitement too . she is nearly six months now and has stopped leaking , so I think if it does not stop it must be a nervous thing , or a submissive act . Mari

My Penny used to do that too but she grew out of it!

At 3 months old she will not have that much control, lots of dogs 'leak' with excitement and most grow out of it. Try to keep meeting people or greeting you as low key as possible. If you could ask visitors to ingnore the pup until they have been in the house for 10 mins or so and the first excitement has died down, it may help but like most dog training it may not and you will have to watch the situation and try to work out a way round it.
