Hi all

I mated my Bullmastiff bitch (two years old, first mating) a week ago and today I noticed a light creamy coloured discharge.  Now before I go running to my vet (I think they must be sick of seeing me by now as they saw me every other day whilst I was having my little girl pre-mated) does anyone know if this is normal after a mating.  The discharge does not smell at all and she is her usual happy go lucky self.  She is not drinking excessively and is eating very well, like she normally does.

going by wat ive picked up on here its normal for a bitch to have discharge as long as its not smelly :) but im sure some1 whose had experience of breeding will be along to tell you more soon. :)
good luck i hope everything goes ok for you and your bitch!

If the discharge is white then that is normal,If it is yellow or green or smells then she has got an infection and will need to go to vet a.s.a.p.

except of course a week after mating she would still be in season ans then a yellow discharge or blood coloured would still be normal.

I would like to thank all of youl for your replies.  I have just managed to get in touch with the breeder whose stud we used and she has told me not only is this normal but in their 35 years of breeding they have always used this as the first sign of their bitches being in whelp, even though she did not say this is 100% but thank you anyway for all of your replies, I am grateful.  I will let you know how she is doing in the coming weeks.
